“I think I just saw the most disgusting thing I have seen working in this business thus far. #TheBoystv,” Fleet said. While he has kept details of the “thing” in question to himself for now, one can only wonder what gross event will infect all of our eyes and minds when The Boys Season 4 eventually premieres.

Based on the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys takes place in a universe where super-powered individuals are recognized as heroes by the public and owned by the powerful corporation Vought International. However, outside their heroic personas, most of these so-called “heroes” are arrogant and corrupt, with the series focusing on the titular Boys, a group of vigilantes looking to keep the corrupted superheroes under control.

The series so far has delighted us all with all manner of disgusting events and actions, including an exploding whale, The Deep being forced to eat a live octopus named Timothy, pretty much everything that went on at Herogasm, and, of course, the Ant-Man-esque superhero Termite exploding his lover’s fun zone.

The Boys is often drowning in blood, guts, and other bodily fluids, and you should not feel ashamed for feeling a little frightened about what season 4 has in store.

The Boys Season 4 Adds Jeffrey Dean Morgan to the Fray

The last we saw of The Boys was in the third season, which begins with Billy Butcher in a surprising position – calm and on the straight and narrow. In fact, it’s been a year of calm. Homelander has been subdued. And Butcher is now working for the government, supervised by Hughie of all people. But both men itch to turn this peace and quiet into blood and bone. So, when The Boys learn of a mysterious anti-Supe weapon, it sends them crashing into The Seven, starting a war and chasing the legend of the first superhero: Soldier Boy.

Sadly, things end badly for The Boys come the season’s end, with Homelander uniting with his super-powered son, Ryan, and even being embraced by a crowd of civilians after he brutally murders a dissenter. While details of The Boys Season 4 remain largely under wraps, the season will likely find the titular gang on the back foot.

One thing we do know is that The Boys Season 4 will finally add Jeffrey Dean Morgan to the fray. His role is unknown, but star Nathan Mitchell, who plays The Seven member Black Noir, has called him a badass.

Starring Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capone, and Karen Fukuhara as the titular vigilantes and Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Chace Crawford, Jessie T. Usher, and Nathan Mitchell as the main line-up of supes, The Boys Season 4 has not yet been given a release date but will once again debut on Prime Video.
