Well, damn. Kripke continued, “Of the many things [current circumstance] is screwing up in this world, a Jeffrey Dean Morgan cameo or a Jeffrey Dean Morgan role may be one of them. But if the quarantine is removed and a couple of things break our way? Then yeah, we’ll try to figure it out.”
“I will caution everybody that [circumstances] could really screw that up, because he’s a regular on another show. He is on The Walking Dead, so he can only come up for a couple of days. If there’s still a two-week quarantine between Canada and the United States, that renders that impossible.”

Morgan publicly lobbied for a role in The Boys on social media last year and has since had discussed a potential appearance with showrunner Eric Kripke. “I absolutely have. There’s one role we’re already talking about”, Kripke said recently when asked whether he has spoken with Jeffrey Dean Morgan about joining The Boys. “He has to, uh, we have to like coordinate. Because you know, he’s on The Walking Dead, so he has another home. But we already talked about one role, and there might be a potential other that we’re talking about. But we are, just this past week we were literally texting back and forth about trying to figure out how to get him on the show. I don’t think it’s a done deal yet, but the will is there, and we’re both talking about it.”
Thanks to the chaos of the first season, The Boys are now fugitives and foul-mouthed leader Billy Butcher is nowhere to be found. “It’s a bit of a mystery,” says Urban, on Billy’s whereabouts. “The Boys are on the back foot and spend a lot of their time trying to make an impact and get traction for taking down the Supes. Just because they’re wanted and in hiding doesn’t mean they’re gonna stop doing what they do. So, the objective is still fundamentally the same.”
Season 2 is set to introduce several new characters, including Giancarlo Esposito as the mysterious Mr. Edgar, Aya Cash’s rival superhero Stormfront, X-Men’s Shawn Ashmore as retired super, Lamplighter, and Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy. The Boys stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother’s Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, and Karen Fukuhara as the Female.
