This update comes to us from the show’s developer Eric Kripke who tweets:

But that’s not all to rejoice about, The Boys fans. The show’s official Twitter account also posted a new short film centered in The Boys universe which showcases what it was like being a young Homelander. The show tweets, “Could there be anything more terrifying than little Homelander?”

“2:15 am. That’s a wrap on The Boys season 2. Exhausted but triumphant. Fucking love this cast & crew. Wait till you see the madness. Coming Summer 2020.”

The Boys Season 2 stars Karl Urban as the above-mentioned team leader Billy Butcher and Jack Quaid as his new recruit Hugh “Hughie” Campbell. Antony Starr turns in a (no pun intended) star-making performance as the show’s “evil Superman” Homelander while Erin Moriarty warms all our hearts as the ever put upon heroine, Starlight. Elisabeth Shue and Jennifer Esposito join them along with Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, and Simon Pegg as Hughie’s father. Guest stars included Jimmy Fallon, Seth Rogen, Billy Zane, Mike Massaro, and Tara Reid as themselves along with Breaking Bad star Giancarlo Esposito, and The Sixth Sense and Forrest Gump star Haley Joel Osment as a former child-star superhero who can read minds. True story.

I have a strange relationship with The Boys as I loved the first two episodes of the series… but haven’t been back for the remaining six just yet. Not sure why. That said, I did read (and own) the first few issues of Gareth Ennis’ original comic book series… but then stopped buying them. Again, not sure why. This update comes to us from The Boys developer Eric Kripke over on Twitter while the young Homelander short film comes to us from The Boys official Twitter account.
