As we have learned at SDCC, not only has The Boys been picked up for a second season already, Seth Rogen confirmed that they are already in the middle of shooting season 2. It’s expected that the sophomore season will arrive sometime in 2020. Though, that may be a bit premature to discuss, since season 1 doesn’t even kick off until next week. In any case, it’s a good sign for anyone who plans on tuning in. The panel was moderated by Aisha Tyler. Producers Rogen and Eric Kripke, who also serves as showrunner, took the stage at SDCC, alongside stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara and Elisabeth Shue.

Another important announcement was made at the panel. Aya Cash, known best for her work on the FX series You’re The Worst, has been added to the cast in the role of Stormfront. This is significant, as Stormfront was originally a man in the source material. Gender-swapping is nothing new in Hollywood, but it does show that the creative minds behind the series are making strides to have The Boys be more inclusive.
