Spoiler Warning: The Boys Season 3
MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY
However, in 2022, The Boys officially lost its place as the most offensive show on television. The show’s creators need not be too upset about losing this controversial honorific, as The Boys was booted from its filthy thrown by none other than its sister show, 2022’s animated series The Boys Presents: Diabolical.
The series has eight episodes, each with a distinct animation style. Despite the beautiful artwork, The Boys Presents: Diabolical is far from family-friendly. Though there are episodes that are more sincere than The Boys franchise generally is, like the beautiful love story presented in episode seven, “John and Sun-Hee,” the show is, for the most part, just as disturbing as its live-action predecessor.
Here are some plotlines we hope to see in a potential season two of The Boys Presents: Diabolical.
A Colorful, Crazy Herogasm Storyline
Season three of The Boys, which by most accounts was the most violent and raunchy installment of the series thus far, reached the pinnacle of its offensiveness during episode six, the much anticipated “Herogasm.” The raunch featured in this controversial episode is difficult to put into print. Given the episode’s name, it is obvious that it has a fair bit of lewd activity, some of which defies the laws of both decency and science.

“Herogasm” would make a perfect set piece for an episode of The Boys Presents: Diabolical. It’s difficult to imagine how the boundaries of sexual exploration could be pushed further than they were in the original “Herogasm” episode. If any series is up for the challenge, it is The Boys Presents: Diabolical. An animated series could show scenes so sexually explicit that even fans of the original The Boys series would have the boundaries of their comfort pushed.
Black Noir’s Gaggle of Animated Critters
In season three of The Boys, audiences got a look into the disturbing psyche of Black Noir, the formerly faceless member of the Seven who prefers to let his knives do the talking for him. Through the use of animated animals, Black Noir’s backstory, including the injury that left him unable to speak.

Given the fact that the animated critters who populate Black Noir’s fractured mind are already cartoons, it is easy to see how a storyline that features both Black Noir and his imaginary friends would be a good fit for The Boys Presents: Diabolical. A potential episode could focus on any point in Black Noir’s decades-long career with Vought Industries. It would be fascinating to see Black Noir at war, slaughtering scores of non-supes, all the while being cheered on by his animated animal friends.
Rolling With The Deep
Prime Video
The Deep has consistently been one of the funniest characters on The Boys. The character is meant to be a parody of DC Comics’ Aquaman, but the list of similarities between Chace Crawford’s aquatic avenger and his Justice League counterpart is rather short. There is a lot of potential for The Deep to be utilized in a theoretical second season of The Boys Presents: Diabolical.
First, the character has a connection with sea creatures that sometimes go beyond friendship. In The Boys season three, the character continually has relations with a certain cephalopod, even going so far as to bring his octopus lover into his marital bed. The Deep’s strange proclivities, coupled with the interesting animation opportunities that would be present in an underwater episode, would make for a perfect storyline.
Prior to the release of The Boys Presents: Diabolical, it was difficult to imagine a series that pushed the boundaries of good taste further than The Boys. There’s something about animation that allows for even more lines to be crossed. In a franchise known for its excessive gore, gratuitous violence, and… inventive sexuality, The Boys Presents: Diabolical still manages to shock its already numb viewers.
While it’s unclear if a second season of the show will be released, there is no shortage of storylines that could be utilized in potential future episodes.
