“I’m shooting The Boys through the end of the year,” Urban said. As we know that season 3 is wrapped and will premiere in June, this might mean that Urban and the cast will be filming new episodes of an unannounced fourth season of The Boys. While that seems to be the most likely answer, it’s also possible that Urban could be referring to a spinoff series, though the only live-action spinoff that’s been officially announced spoofs the X-Men with a superhero college setting. There’s no indication at this time Billy Butcher will be involved.

The Boys Has Been a Huge Hit for Prime Video

The Boys brings back all of its surviving key players for season 3, including Karl Urban, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, and Jack Quaid. The new season introduces Laurie Holden as Crimson Countess, Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, Sean Patrick Flannery as Gunpowder, Nick Wechsler as Blue Hawk, Miles Gaston Villanueva as Supersonic, Frances Turner as Monique, Kristen Booth and Jack Doolan as Tessa and Tommy/the TNT Twins, and Katia Winter as Little Nina.

“Without giving away any spoilers, I was just in editing yesterday, and we’re doing something here in the season 3 premiere that is not only I think the craziest thing we’ve ever done, it’s got to be up there with the craziest thing anyone’s ever done,” showrunner Eric Kripke teased last year of the new episodes. “Maybe it won’t work. Who knows? But I’m just so high on this gag that we’re pulling off. And it’s certainly something nobody has ever seen before, probably for good reason. So all that’s really exciting.”

The Boys will debut season 3 on June 3, 2022, on Prime Video. The first two seasons, along with the animated spinoff The Boys Presents: Diabolical, can all be found streaming on Prime Video as well. Stay tuned for that official season 5 announcement.
