After losing several cast members, The Boys’ college spinoff series is back on track. Deadline reports that a handful of new cast members has just boarded the series, and this includes Patrick Schwarzenegger, the son of Arnold Schwarzenegger who recently showed off his dramatic range in the HBO Max series The Staircase. Also coming on board in recurring roles are Sean Patrick Thomas (The Tragedy of Macbeth) and Marco Pigossi (Invisible City).
Full details on their characters have yet to be revealed, but Schwarzenegger will reportedly play Golden Boy with Thomas as Polarity and Pigossi as Dr. Cardosa. They’ll be joining cast members Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, and Shelley Conn. In recent months, Reina Hardesty, Aimee Carrero, and Shane Pual McGhie departed the series after they were previously attached to star.

Along with The Staircase, Schwarzenegger appeared in the shows The Long Road Home and Scream Queens. He also starred in last year’s Netflix movie Moxie from director Amy Poehler and will next appear in the Prime Video series The Terminal List with Chris Pratt. Thomas was recently seen in the acclaimed drama The Tragedy of Macbeth and can also be seen in the Apple series For All Mankind. Meanwhile, fans may best recognize Pigossi for his role in Netflix’s Brazilian series Invisible City.
The Boys Will Spoof X-Men With the Spinoff
In March, Prime Video debuted the first spinoff, The Boys: Diabolical. It is an animated anthology series that presents each episode from different creative minds and animation styles. Each episode features the voices of various celebrities and tells stories from different areas of The Boys’ universe, including Supes never seen on the live-action series. It’s not yet clear if more seasons are coming but the show was a hit, drawing high acclaim from critics.
Of course, the main series is getting very close to making its return. The first two seasons of The Boys have both been very well-received and its fandom continues to grow as more fans discover the series. Season 3 will likely debut with high viewership as there has been a lot of anticipation for new episodes, especially with Supernatural star Jensen Ackles making his debut in the franchise in the first episode of the next season.
The Boys will return with season 3 on Prime Video on June 3, 2022. The college spinoff series does not yet have a premiere date.
