The Boys ensemble cast continues to grow as the Prime Video series prepares for its eventual fourth season. Rosemarie DeWitt will play Hughie’s mother, a part only referenced in the show so far. She will appear alongside Simon Pegg, who returns as Hugh Cambell, the father to Jack Quaid’s Hughie. Fans should expect a bit of family drama in Season 4, as the relationship between all members of the family has seen some rocky points.
The casting announcement comes directly from The Boys Twitter account, sharing the “Hugh news” on Thursday. The tweet features a hilarious father and son photo from Quaid and Pegg, and audiences are excited to see their relationship expand in the upcoming season. The announcement can be found below.
DeWitt has seen plenty of roles in Hollywood throughout her career, known for her work in Poltergeist (2015), La La Land, and Rachel Getting Married. However, that isn’t the only talent added to the cast, as Elliot Knight and Rob Benedict will join the series in undisclosed roles.
Knight is known for his work on the DC series Titans, along with American Gothic and Color Out of Space. Rob Benedict is the latest Supernatural actor to join the show, reuniting with creator Eric Kripke. In addition, fans can see Karl Urban, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, and many more alongside some fresh faces when The Boys Season 4 arrives on Prime Video.

Rob Benedict is just the latest Supernatural actor to join The Boys, as the cast seems to be filled with the former actors who shared the small screen. Jensen Ackles joined the cast in the third season, portraying Soldier Boy for seven episodes. His presence was one of the main plot points of the season, as his character was retrieved from Russia in an attempt to use him as a weapon against Homelander. But, of course, not all went to plan, as he’s currently in the process of being re-frozen after a massive fight on Vought Tower during the season finale.
Earlier this year, Jeffrey Dean Morgan joined the cast in an undisclosed role. He starred alongside Ackles and Benedict in Supernatural as John Winchester before landing a starring role as Negan in The Walking Dead for AMC. In addition, Valorie Curry (Blair Witch, The Following) is joining Season 4 as Firecracker, while Susan Heyward (Powers, Orange is the New Black) is set to play Sister Sage. Details surrounding their characters are still scarce as they aren’t part of the comic book series the show is based on. Fans will also see an increased presence from Cameron Crovetti, as he was recently bumped to a series regular for the next season. Audiences hope to see these characters and more when The Boys returns for a fourth season sometime in 2023 or 2024.
