8 Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End (2007)
Walt Disney Pictures
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End has the most pirate wedding of all time. It’s pouring rain, their ship is being torn apart, and enemies are swinging in from all angles, but Will and Elizabeth want to be married. Right at that very moment. They’ve been apart for some time, but their love remains strong, and when Elizabeth suggests they form a union to really prove to each other how much they love one another, Barbossa, of all people, agrees to it. Since he’s the captain, all he really has to say is a few choice words while swinging his sword around and hobbling on his peg leg, before the two are married and promised to each other.

7 The Godfather (1972)
Paramount Pictures
It’s a traditional Sicilian wedding, what’s not to love? If you look past the entirety of what The Godfather is about and all the killing and the mob, the wedding scene is actually very nice. The dress itself is very Italian traditional with the amount of lace and the veil, and keeping in line with tradition, the entire family is there to celebrate the big day. Plenty of dancing takes place, the bride accepting cards full of money in an old-fashioned bag, and Top Weddings explains how important the traditions explored in this scene are with the Godfather and the family. This scene also took an entire week to film, so if you enjoy a traditional wedding scene mixed in with some Italian culture, this one is for you.
6 A Star is Born (2018)
Warner Bros. Pictures
Ally and Jack’s relationship is truly a whirlwind romance. So, it’s no surprise when their wedding is held on the same night they get engaged; no time to rest and think of whether it’s a perfect idea for their relationship. Jack proposes to Ally under the dining room table with a string from his guitar; his hazy eyes and deep voice a perfect match for Ally’s semi-reckless behavior and hope for true love. Despite the possible red flags, the wedding is sweet and short; Ally finding her dress within minutes and Jack having enough sense to wear a suit.
5 Mamma Mia! (2008)
Universal Pictures
There’s something very warm about the wedding that takes place in Mamma Mia!. For one, Sophie and Sky don’t get married. Instead, Donna and Sam do, which is quite the turn of events. However, Sophie’s dress is something to truly marvel at, with the amount of material, as well as how casual it all seems. Even the scene where Donna is helping Sophie get ready is special; the two of them not really ready for such a moment as this, but still, getting prepared. Once the ceremony is over, it turns into one big party, and In The Know states that yes, the cast was actually drunk while filming those scenes, making it that more authentic.
4 Hitch (2005)
Columbia Pictures
Arguably one of Will Smith’s funniest movies, the end of Hitch is truly something special. When the wedding actually happens and Allegra and Albert finally get married, audiences are invited to watch what takes place at the reception. Will Smith and Kevin James are in their element as they bust out some of the corniest dance moves, breaking out into splits, leap frogging over each other, and it eventually leads to Albert splitting his pants. The men don’t get to have all the fun though, and the ladies match their energy as they make their way down the dance train, doing some choreographed dance moves that were semi-cool in 2005.
3 Bridesmaids (2011)
Universal Pictures
Bridesmaids is the perfect movie for when you need a good laugh and a sign that you need to get your closest friends together. The wedding at the end of this film is perfect closure for the amount of craziness that happens throughout the film, from being kicked off a plane, to a dress fitting gone terribly wrong, and Lillian finally getting her big day. Melissa McCarthy steals the scene, as she sings to her new beau, the air marshal from the plane, and their nine puppies that are also in attendance.
2 Breaking Dawn Part 1 (2011)
Summit Entertainment
For years before the movies were released, fans waited for this moment to grace the big screens. Edward and Bella’s wedding is simply iconic, from start to finish. Her dress, his suit, the arch they’re standing under, and the surrounding setting really ties in the perfect vibe that they were going for, and many fans of the franchise have recreated this wedding scene for their own big day. The ceremony is perfect, but the reception is even better, as guests give speeches. Charlie nails it with the protective dad lecture, and Emmett makes it awkward as he brings up Edward and Bella’s sex life.
1 Crazy Rich Asians (2018)
Warner Bros.
This scene could make the most anti-romance individual tear up. The entire premise of Crazy Rich Asians is that Rachel is involved with Nick, an extremely rich man who comes from a world of indescribable wealth. Throughout the entire film, viewers are waiting for the wedding to happen, and when it finally does, it’s better than one could ever imagine. The cover of Can’t Help Falling In Love as the bride slowly makes her way down the aisle is the cherry on top, as water fills the aisle and guests light her way. And the moment between Rachel and Nick, where the ladder mouths “I love you”, really seals the deal for this being the best wedding in a movie.
