7 Don’t Make Me Go (July 15)

Along the way the audience will find themselves laughing, crying, and feeling truly heartbroken, watching him try and teach her everything that she might need to know for the rest of her life. The complicated father-daughter relationship between Cho and Issac is bitter-sweet yet totally lovable, and brings a fantastic chemistry to the screen. While it might be a comedic heartwarming movie, there’s no ignoring the deep sadness that runs through it.

6 Anything’s Possible (July 22)

5 Jennifer’s Body (July 1st)

     20th Century Fox

An oldie but goodie comedy horror will be hitting Prime July 1st. Karyn Kusama’s Jennifer’s Body will take us back to 2009, when Megan Fox played a demonically possessed high school girl with a taste for human flesh, who kills (or rather rips them limb by limb) her male classmates as her best friend attempts to stop her. Filled with jump scares, feminist ideals, comedic one-liners, and a brilliant friendship dynamic, this great satirical horror is definitely underrated in the genre. Nevertheless, on July 1st, horror fans will be able to get on Prime and sink their teeth into this movie.

4 Prizefighter (July 22)

3 Hot Fuzz (July 1st)

     Universal Pictures

Fans of the Cornetto Trilogy will be pleased to know that Hot Fuzz will be available on Prime from July 1st. Directed by Edgar Wright and co-written with Simon Pegg, this 2007 buddy cop action comedy is just one you cannot miss. The second and most successful installment in the trilogy (which includes Shaun of the Dead and The World’s End) follows police officer Nicholas Angel who investigates something suspicious when the residents of a quiet Somerset village begin to die in terrible accidents. Although, to his disappointment, he must work with the daft Danny Butterman to find out what’s going on. As usual, it is to be expected in an Edgar Wright film that the chemistry and hilarious relationship between Simon Pegg and Nick Frost never disappoints and this funny, upbeat movie will surely brighten your day.

2 House of Gucci (July 2)

     Scott Free Productions

1 Dead Ringers (July 1st)

On the darker side of the cinematic spectrum, Dead Ringers, the 1988 psychological thriller from David Cronenberg will be hitting our screens on July 1st. What is possibly one of Cronenberg’s best movies stars Jeremy Irons in a dual role as identical twin gynecologists. The script is actually based on the lives of Stewart and Cyril Marcus, and on the novel titled Twins by Bari Wood and Jack Geasland. The film follows Elliot and Beverly, who work at the same gynecology practice. Elliot finds himself attracted to many of his patients and even has affairs with them, although when he loses interest, he will give them over to Beverly without the woman knowing the difference. However, Beverly falls in love with one of the patients, Claire, but when she denies him, he slips into a state of madness. For those who love classic spine-tingling thrills and chills, Dead Ringers is a must-watch.
