The second season of The Bear has gotten its release window along with word that season 2 will be longer than what was originally planned. Deadline reports that the hit FX series is set to return early this summer, though an exact date has yet to be revealed. Also noted is that season 2 has been bumped up to 10 episodes, an increase of two more episodes from the season’s initial order of eight.
“I know this sounds like I’m avoiding the question but part of the reason why I even wanted to make the show in the first place was that I probably become unhealthily obsessed with time in a lot of instances that created anxiety,” The Bear creator Christopher Storer said of what’s to come. “And there’s no better setting than a restaurant for the pressures of that. In terms of season 2, you’re gonna see them build a restaurant.”

He added, “They think they’re starting from a healthy place like a lot of other businesses but it just creates the same amount of problems and the same amount of headaches every day. So we see them have to step up in different ways. In some ways, they’ll regress but hopefully, they’ll ultimately come back together to open this thing by a very specific date.”
In addition to creating the series, Storer executive produces alongside Joanna Calo, Hiro Murai, Nate Matteson, and Josh Senior. Tyson Bidner produces while Matty Matheson co-produces.

FX
The Bear just recently garnered series star Jeremy Allen White his first-ever Golden Globe Award. On Tuesday night, the actor took the win for Best Television Actors in a Musical or Comedy Series. During his acceptance speech, he heaped lots of praise onto his fellow cast and co-stars of The Bear, commenting on how grateful he is.
“My cast, oh my god,” White said when holding his trophy, overcome with emotion. “My cast and crew, if I’m good, it is because you are good, so thank you.”
The Bear follows White as Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto, a young chef who returns home to Chicago to run his family’s sandwich shop following the death of a family member, inheriting many unforeseen challenges. In addition to White, The Bear stars Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colon-Zayas, and Abby Elliott. The series also features Oliver Platt, Jon Bernthal, Joel McHale, and Molly Ringwald.
The Bear will return in the early summer of 2023 with an exact premiere date yet to be announced. The first season is streaming on Hulu.
