A brief new teaser for Warner Bros.’ upcoming DC outing, The Batman, gives us a further glimpse at the crime-fighting duo of The Dark Knight and Catwoman. Aptly titled “Duet,” the footage, which comes courtesy of the official Twitter account for The Batman, gives us another look at the pair as they fight alongside one another for the soul of Gotham City, as well as revealing more of the captivating chemistry between these two comic book icons, played by Robert Pattinson and Zoë Kravitz.
The Bat and the Cat are undeniably one helluva duo indeed. Though short, this newest trailer gives us another tantalizing taste of the stunning fight sequences that will litter The Batman, as the DC superhero unites with Catwoman for what looks to be an action-packed romance. Directed by War for the Planet of the Apes’ Matt Reeves, the relationship between Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne/Batman and Zoë Kravitz’s Selina Kyle/Catwoman looks to be taking a central role in the plot of The Batman. The most recent trailers have continued to tease an exciting team-up between them, with Batman and Catwoman finding themselves on the same side against the murderous serial killer, The Riddler.

A recent synopsis for The Batman has offered even more clues regarding their connection, seemingly revealing that Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle go way, way back. “Gotham is being hit by a gruesome series of crimes that the police have long been unable to cope with,” the logline begins. “Bruce Wayne aka Batman does what he can, but also reaches his limits. The penguin has a hand in it, but he is only one in the all-encompassing swamp of the city. The appearance of his childhood friend Selina Kyle alias Catwoman creates additional emotional confusion in the angry fighter for justice.”
The Batman will introduce an earlier version of the beloved vigilante, who is a mere two years into his career as a cape and cowl-wearing crimefighter. Bruce Wayne has practically left his ordinary life behind, delving into his alter ego more than any big-screen iteration of the character before him. But, when a serial killer called The Riddler begins murdering Gotham elites, Bruce Wayne will be forced to confront both his past and his tactics in order to save the city from the stranglehold of this supervillain. The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/The Batman, alongside Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Paul Dano as Edward Nashton/Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Colin Farrell as Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot/Penguin, and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth.
The Batman is scheduled for release in the United States on March 4, 2022, having been delayed from a release date of June 2021 due to the ongoing global circumstances. While The Batman has been described as a standalone outing for The Caped Crusader that will remain separate from the rest of the DC cinematic universe, Waner Bros. is hoping to launch a new franchise, with several spinoffs already in development for HBO Max.
