It’s been nearly 25 years since the original series, That ’70s Show, premiered. In the new series, That ’90s Show, fans can expect the comforts of Wisconsin life to return with beloved characters from the famous basement. In addition, fans nostalgic for the set should expect some updates since over 20 years have passed. The basement and other parts of the home will inevitably incorporate ’90s design sensibilities. The yellow velvet couch, though, hasn’t gone anywhere. The recently released trailer, courtesy of Netflix, can be found below.
In January, Netflix will release the new spin-off series, That ’90s Show, with ten episodes set in the summer of 1995. The show follows the journey of Leia Forman, played by Callie Haverda, as she visits her grandparents, Kitty and Red, in the quirky town of Point Place, Wisconsin. The series offers a firsthand look at the town’s quirks through the eyes of Leia as she spends time with her family.

Ashton Kutcher told Variety that being back on the set made him reminisce. “It was really nostalgic to be back on the set. It’s all the same folks that made That ’70s Show, so it was pretty bizarre.”
Even with new ’90s fashion, the series will retain its original style and direction. Many members of the original production team ensure that the new series has attempted to ensure that the show rings true to its predecessor. The multi-camera format which That ’70s Show used is also used for That ’90s Show, so the look and feel of the series will be familiar. Producer Gregg Mettler serves as showrunner, and series creators Bonnie Turner and Terry Turner are aboard the production as writers and producers.
