Ted Lasso is the most successful Apple TV+ series ever, having received 11 Primetime Emmy Awards and 75 wins out of 156 nominations. It teaches about life, sport, passion, family, friendship, and everything else that makes a person a human being. The series captivated viewers for two seasons with a pure blend of humorous and heartfelt moments. With Apple TV+ recently unveiling a new first look, fans are more excited than ever to watch the third season.
Ted Lasso Season 3 was announced during Apple’s presentation at the Television Critics Association’s winter 2023 press tour. Given the previous season’s events, especially Nathan’s impulsive decision to betray Ted, the following season promises to be more than merely emotional encounters. With that said, here’s everything we know about Ted Lasso Season 3, the upcoming Apple TV+ series.

Ted Lasso Season 3: The Plot
Apple TV+
Things have moved along rapidly in the second season, with Trent Crimm revealing Ted’s panic attack to the public and Ted overcoming his problems with the help of the team’s therapist, Sharon. Furthermore, the unexpected development of Sam Obisanya’s relationship with Rebecca had a profound influence on audiences. However, AFC Richmond scores a goal and draws with Manchester City in the game’s final moments to earn promotion to the league. Even though Nate criticized Ted for abandoning him, the show’s climax was brightened by the reappearance of Roy Kent as a coach. This gives us an idea of what the third season of Ted Lasso might entail.
The upcoming season will most likely focus on all the characters from various perspectives. For instance, we’re likely to see a relationship crisis between Roy and Keeley and the main focus will be AFC Richmond’s return to the Premier League. However, based on the first look released by Apple TV+, things are about to heat up between Nate and Ted as the former is now officially the manager of West Ham United, owned by Rupert Mannion, Rebecca’s ex-husband. Since the second season revealed a more humble Jamie Tartt, as opposed to an arrogant personality we had come to know, we might see him becoming the heart of AFC Richmond alongside Dani Rojas, who filled in for Ace during Jamie’s absence.
Since there hasn’t been a trailer for the series yet, these are our speculations. Seeing as the previous season hinted at most of the events, we may anticipate a more dramatic storyline for season three.
Ted Lasso Season 3: The Cast & Crew
As usual, Jason Sudeikis returns as Ted, the humble and inspiring manager of AFC Richmond. Apart from his indelible performance as Ted in the previous two seasons, he can be seen playing Oscar in Colossal, David Clark in We’re the Millers, and Kurt Buckman in Horrible Bosses. Surprisingly, Sudeikis not only nailed his role of Ted, but he also contributed to the Ted Lasso series’ writing and story development.
Both Nick Mohammed and Brett Goldstein will be back to continue their roles as Nathan Shelly and Roy Kent, respectively. The former actor has acted in several popular films and television shows, including The Martian, The Sense of an Ending, and Intelligence. Brett, on the other hand, is a terrific actor who has appeared in Thor: Love and Thunder, SuperBob, and Soulmates.
Along with those stated above, Hannah Waddingham (Sex Education), Brendan Hunt (Bless This Mess), Toheeb Jimoh (The Feed), Juno Temple (Maleficent: Mistress of Evil), Jeremy Swift (Downton Abbey), and Phil Dunster (Murder on the Orient Express) will reprise their prior roles as prominent actors. Billy Harris, Cristo Fernandez, Kola Bokinni, Anthony Head, Adam Colborne, Kevin Garry, Annette Badland, and many more are among the Ted Lasso third season’s supporting cast members.
Apple TV+ made no changes to the main production team, which has done an outstanding job thus far. Consequently, we expect the return of the show’s previous directors, Declan Lowney and Erica Dunton, for the third season. Jason Sudeikis and Bill Lawrence will serve as executive producers through the Doozer Productions Banner in association with Universal Television and Warner Bros. Television. Also serving as an executive producer is Jeff Ingold of Doozer Productions, with Liza Katzer co-executive producing.
Release Date
Ted Lasso Season 3 is set to premiere in Spring 2023, as officially announced by Apple TV+.
Everything Else We Know
According to executive producer Bill Lawrence via Deadline, fans of Ted Lasso should brace themselves since the third season will be the series’ grand finale. These were his exact words:
The third season started filming in early 2022, with the writers’ room beginning in the fall of 2021. However, due to several production and cast issues, the release date was repeatedly pushed back until it was ultimately set for Spring 2023. Season three of Ted Lasso will consist of 12 episodes, and the fans who have been waiting for two years are in for an emotional roller coaster.
“When we first pitched this particular story, we said this series was only going to be three seasons. And I would probably stay clean and say that even if Ted Lasso goes on, the story the writing staff has been telling had a beginning, middle, and end for the first three seasons. And then it might veer off from that.”
