Apple officially announced at the Television Critics Association’s winter 2023 that Ted Lasso would return for a new season in spring 2023. Although there is no specific premiere date for the series, the announcement also covered a glimpse of Ted (Jason Sudeikis) and Nate (Nick Mohammed) facing off against one another following their confrontation at the end of Season 2. Each episode of Ted Lasso brings laughs and tears to the viewers, which makes audiences so excited about this announcement.

Ted Lasso was created by Sudeikis, Lawrence, Hunt, and Joe Kelly and follows the same format and characters as NBC Sports. The show depicts the story of a Kansas football coach hired to work with a professional soccer team in England despite never having coached soccer before. Following Nathan’s media disclosure about Ted’s panic attacks, he left Richmond to coach a rival team at the end of season two. There will probably be a lot of work for the coaches in the new season, regardless of Ted’s lack of resentment. The AppleTV+ announcement can be found below.

As part of the Television Critics Association press tour, co-creator Bill Lawrence and writer/star Brett Goldstein participated on a panel about their upcoming comedy series Shrinking. Lawrence, as Variety reports, was hesitant to speak about Ted Lasso during the panel. However, he admitted that he had seen amazing cuts during the upcoming season’s production. Apart from expressing pride in the season, Goldstein also seemed enthusiastic about the series’ future.

Fans of the show have been speculating about the possibility of season 3 being the end of the series, primarily because of comments from the cast. Although no official announcement has been made, Goldstein said the third season would be a “curtain call.” Sudeikis also spoke about the series having a three-season arc during an interview in 2021. Upon debuting in 2020, Ted Lasso became one of Apple TV+’s first huge successes, winning numerous awards.

Aside from Sudeikis and Mohammed, the show also stars Brendan Hunt, Jeremy Swift, Juno Temple, and Phil Dunster as part of the cast. Among the show’s co-producers are Bill Lawrence and Sudeikis, in association with Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television. The series is also executive produced by Jeff Ingold, with Liza Katzer serving as co-executive producer. Fans can see how the drama, laughs, and tears unfold when Ted Lasso arrives for the third and possibly final season this Spring.
