Prepare to dive into adventure once again with creator Irwin Allen’s action-packed science fiction series Voyage to the Bottom of Sea, as the first volume of the show’s landmark second season arrives on DVD October 24, 2006 from Fox Home Entertainment. Season two of the popular television series based on Allen’s 1961 film of the same name was the first to be broadcast in color, thrilling audiences with its wildly imaginative adventures and sometimes thinly veiled political commentary.
The series, which ran from 1964-1968, broke new ground with its use of special effects to depict the inventive and perilous journeys of the intrepid crew of the nuclear submarine SSRN Seaview. The three-disc DVD collection includes the first 13 episodes from the second season, as well as bonus special effects footage, a concept art gallery, episodic photo gallery and a publicity photo gallery. The Voyage to the Bottom of Sea Season 2, Vol. 1 DVD collection will be available for the suggested retail price of $29.98 U.S./$37.98 Canada.
