T.J. Miller has now clarified where he and Ryan Reynolds are in their reportedly tumultuous working relationship. The pair appeared together in the first two Deadpool movies, and when the announcement was made about Deadpool 3 moving forward at Marvel Studios, Miller commented that he probably wouldn’t be back again to play Weasel, the friend of Reynold’s title character. Additionally, he said he wouldn’t work with Reynolds again because the actor “hated him.”
It seems that since Miller made those comments, he and Reynolds have made their peace, with Reynolds getting in touch with him after the comments were made public earlier this month. Miller commented on the development while being interviewed by SiriusXM’s Jim Norton & Sam Roberts. He also addressed how his original comments had been misrepresented and praised Reynolds for his reaction to the negativity that had been created around his original interview. He said:
MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY
“I didn’t think that I had said anything that was that negative. I feel bad that it was picked up and that it was misconstrued. For sure. But no, it was the next day… he and I talked, and it’s fine. It was very cool for him to say, ‘Hey, you know, I just heard on the show that you were upset about this.’ And I kind of said, ‘You know, I’m not,’ and then we sort of just hashed it out really quickly.”
T.J. Miller Could Now Possibly Make a Deadpool 3 Appearance
Although T.J. Miller is still not expected to be part of Deadpool 3, the news that the pair have been in touch will have given fans some hope that he will now have at least a small part in the movie. While many people would be delighted to see Deadpool and Weasel reunite again, it all likely rests on whether Miller wants to be part of it. With the pair now on good terms, and Reynolds not one to step away from being inclusive of anyone and everyone in his movies, it could be that their conversation also led to possible discussions about Miller joining Deadpool 3.
For now, Deadpool 3 may not be bringing back Miller, but there are plenty of other returns on the card to keep fans happy, and top of this list is the inclusion of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. When the announcement was made by Reynolds that Jackman would be reprising his previously retired role, the internet went wild, and what has already been a massively hyped movie is now at another level.
However, there will be a slightly longer wait than originally planned to see Deadpool and Wolverine team up on screen, with the movie having been delayed from its original September 6, 2024, release date to November 8, 2024. Although this is just a short delay compared to some other Marvel movies such as Blade and Avengers: Secret Wars, even a day longer will seem like a lifetime for those who have been waiting to see Deadpool enter the MCU for a number of years now.
