A fun filled show for the tween audience.

Put together with a whopping 3 episodes, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody: Sweet Suite Victory DVD showcases the goings on of brothers Zack and Cody when they move into the plush Tipton Hotel in Boston. Aiding the brothers in their constant quest for fun, mischief and whatever else are their buddies London and Maddie. The three episodes that make up this set are:

Whether Zack and Cody are going head to head for the presidency of their class, or Maddie and London are at one another’s throat about who’s Sweet 16 party is going to be the best, you can be sure that the laughs and hijinks are never too far from the surface of this show. Gag Reel
With young kids all but running the show you can bet that there are a fair amount of gags in this section. From messed up lines, to laughing about something a character did or said, to the hilarity of one of the actors continuing to mess up their lines, this section is sure to bring a smile to the faces of the fans of this show. While I wouldn’t suggest watching this unless you absolutely love these characters, I am willing to bet that the fans will rabidly attack this portion of the segment.

Video
Full Screen - 1.33:1. With bright lighting underscoring pretty much every aspect of this show, mixed in with traditional editing schemes, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody: Sweet Suite Victory does anything but push the editing envelope. I would love it if one of these shows would just go for it and try and shake things up. Even an oft-used device like a handheld camera would be enough to shake this show up.
Audio
Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. The audio for this release was solid but there wasn’t anything that special about it. I was able to hear everything that the characters were saying, but I pretty much expect that to be the case with any DVD I am given to review. I didn’t find that this disc really took my sound system out for any kind of a test spin but it wasn’t like I spent the whole time watching it adjusting the audio levels.
Package
Zack, Cody, Maddie and London grace this front cover as they all slide down a staircase in the Tipton Hotel. The back of this cover features a couple of images from the show as well as a promo shot of the cast against a light, aqua background. There is an Exclusive Bonus Features listing and below that a System Specs listing as well.
Final Word
I went into this show with dubious expectations to say the least. I can’t say that I really knew what was going to happen, but for a tween sitcom from the Disney Channel, I rather enjoyed what The Suite Life of Zack and Cody: Sweet Suite Victory had to offer. Yes, I know that I am a little old to really get into this show but that doesn’t mean that I didn’t. I liked all the characters, the easy going nature that each show projected and I also think that the writing wasn’t half bad. This is a show for the tweener set so we really can’t expect it to be on par with All in the Family. That said, maybe I just want to return to my youth? Maybe I want to be like Zack and Cody? But there was something about this show that I found oddly comforting.
The Suite Life of Zack and Cody: Sweet Suite Victory may not be everyone but here’s betting that its audience will be all too happy to own it.
