The decision made by the Supreme Court to end constitutional protection for abortion by overturning Roe v. Wade was met with great controversy across the nation. Many celebrities have been opening up on the situation as a lot of criticism has been leveled toward the Supreme Court. Stranger Things star Maya Hawke is the latest to weigh in and to really stress how she feels, it took a certain four-letter word to emphasize her point.

On Tuesday night, Hawke appeared on The Tonight Show for an interview with Jimmy Fallon. She spoke about her own family’s history with abortion, referring to mom Uma Thurman describing the abortion she’d had as a teenager in an op-ed written for The Washington Post in 2021. Hawke describes it as a “really beautiful essay” that encapsulated why it was so important for Thurman to have had the procedure done when she did.

Maya Hawke went on to explain how this decision will cause much more harm than good, and for all of the lives that this will impact, the Stranger Things star is angry at the Supreme Court. Despite being on network television, she couldn’t help but swear to stress how she really feels, though the expletives were obviously bleeped when aired on NBC. After dropping one F-bomb and questioning if she’d crossed a line, Jimmy Fallon encouraged her, telling her she can “absolutely say that,” causing her to get in a few more.

Meanwhile, Hawke can be seen in the second half of the fourth season of Stranger Things which will very soon premiere on Netflix. The second half of the season will launch on July 1, 2022. The first half is available now for streaming along with the previous three seasons of the series.
