Stranger Things 4 answered many questions about the Upside Down and set up the final fifth season as a final showdown between Vecna and Eleven. After teasing some “surprise reveals” about Stranger Things 5, Netflix has given fans something to tide them over until the final season finally debuts on the platform. It’s the title reveal for season 5’s premiere episode, with a cover sheet for the script unveiling the name, “Chapter One: The Crawl.”
Stranger Things 4 was a record breaker for a number of reasons. The series clocked in at almost double the length of any other season of the 80s based horror fantasy, with a season finale that came in at almost two and a half hours long on its own. Over the course of the season a new fan favorite was introduced in metal-loving, D&D-playing Eddie Munson, but the character didn’t survive the season, much to the displeasure of many fans.

However, going into the final season, all of the main players are very much in contention to play important roles in the climax of what has been an almost flawless series, but that doesn’t mean that all of them will be alive at the end of season 5. With some fans having called out The Duffer Brothers for previously not killing off any of its core characters, with Sadie Sink’s Max ending up in a coma but still a long way from being out of the picture, there is an expectation that at least a couple much-loved characters will come to devastating ends.
How Will Stranger Things End?
Netflix
The Duffer Brothers have given no indication of how Stranger Things will come to its conclusion, but there are many fans hoping that the show can go out on a high and not blow its finale like so many other popular shows like Game of Thrones and Lost. One person who will certainly be sad to see the series end is Millie Bobby Brown, who doesn’t know how her character will finish the finale season, but is well aware that it will be a sad goodbye, even if it allows her to pursue other projects. She previously said:
Of course even though the main series of Stranger Things is ending, that does not mean we have seen the last of at least some of the characters or the Upside Down. The Duffer Brothers have already revealed that they have a plan for at least one spin-off show, and as one of Netflix’s biggest series ever, they are not going to want let go of the franchise just yet.
“It has been a huge part of my life, and it will be sad for the most part, but there is an inkling of me being able to finally let go of her, and being able to free up some of my schedule to be able to tell some stories of my own.”
Seasons 1-4 of Stranger Things are streaming now on Netflix.
