Summit Entertainment has acquired the rights to the 2008 non-fiction book Storming Las Vegas, with Antoine Fuqua attached to direct the adaptation.
The book, written by John Huddy, chronicles the story of Jose Vigoa, a Cuban-born commando who set off on a 16-month crime spree against Las Vegas casinos in the 1990s, when the city was trying to rid itself of its crime-laden image. The criminal was also going up against a longtime veteran of the Las Vegas police department, who had the double-edged task of tracking Vigoa down, and keeping this crime spree out of the newspapers.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura is attached to produce Storming Las Vegas, although a screenwriter has not been attached yet to adapt the book. Here’s the official synopsis of the book from its publisher, Random House.
