Jackass star Steve-O wants to see people move on from that controversial joke Amy Schumer told about Ryan Dunn more than ten years ago. Back in 2011, Schumer was still a rising star in the comedy world when she appeared as a roaster on The Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen. One of the most talked about jokes that night came from Schumer, who used Dunn’s death to take a dig at Steve-O.
“I truly am, no joke, sorry for the loss of your friend, Ryan Dunn,” Schumer said on the program. “I know you must’ve been thinking, ‘It could’ve been me,’ and we were all thinking, ‘Why wasn’t it?’”

At the time, the joke prompted some groans from the crowd who felt it was too soon to make light of Dunn’s passing, which happened just three months prior. Steve-O appeared to be visibly offended by the joke as well, as he didn’t so much as fake a smile. Many of Steve-O’s fans had heavily criticized Schumer for going there and even Steve-O couldn’t help but get involved, saying some pretty negative things about her in 2012.
At one point, however, Steve-O and Schumer hashed things out and are on good terms these days. In a recent episode of his podcast, the subject came back up after the Ryan Dunn joke resurfaced and renewed some backlash against Schumer on social media. Steve-O now regrets the way he handled that situation a decade ago and explains how whenever he sees the Schumer getting criticized online over that joke these days, it makes him uncomfortable.
Steve-O Reunited With the Jackass Gang

Steve-O recently reunited with the Jackass gang for the new sequel Jackass Forever, which hit theaters in February. An alternate cut dubbed Jackass 4.5 is also now streaming on Netflix. Longtime fans of the franchise may enjoy seeing most of the original cast back together, although some key names are missing. That, of course, includes Ryan Dunn, who died after the release of Jackass 3D.
Bam Margera was also mostly absent from Jackass Forever. During the sequel’s production, Margera had a falling out with the Jackass team for allegedly failing to abide by a “wellness agreement” that monitored his potential drug use. He was fired from the film and later filed a lawsuit against the filmmakers, but the lawsuit has since been settled. Margera more recently celebrated a one-year completion of a drug and alcohol treatment program and looks to be moving on with his life.
