The Mandalorian season three will soon begin streaming on Disney+. The other live-action Star Wars project of the year will be Ahsoka, featuring the fan-favorite Ahsoka Tano. After her debut in The Clone Wars, Ahsoka has become one of the most popular characters in the franchise and has made a larger impact for good in the galaxy than anyone else outside the Skywalker family.

Following a character who transcends every era of the Star Wars universe and who appears in almost every title outside the movies, Ahsoka has the potential here to answer the many questions that have arisen from across the galaxy.

Where Are Ezra And Thrawn?

     Lucasfilm Animation

The series finale of Star Wars Rebels years ago left us with the most integral mystery in Ahsoka: where are Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn? After being shot into hyperspace without any protection, likely into the deadly Unknown Regions, we’re not even sure if they’re still alive.

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

This will likely be the main focus of the series, as in the Rebels finale Ahoska is seen joining Sabine Wren in the search for Ezra, and actors for Ezra and Thrawn have reportedly been confirmed for the show. Given that Ahsoka is still seeking information on Thrawn’s whereabouts in The Mandalorian, she hasn’t found them yet.

Why Did Ahsoka’s Lightsabers Change From Blue To White?

     Disney Platform Distribution

Ahsoka’s lightsabers have changed several times, and have always held fans’ interest. Her first was a common green, but she held it in a reverse grip, the first person seen to do so. Ahsoka built a second lightsaber later, an unusual yellow-green, and switched grips often, creating unique fighting techniques. Both lightsabers then changed to blue at the end of the Clone Wars by her mentor Anakin Skywalker and had become pure white by the time of the Rebellion.

The color of a lightsaber represents the one who wields it, and Ahsoka’s white lightsabers mean a lot for the character. In E.K. Johnston’s novel Ahsoka, Ahsoka kills an Imperial Inquisitor who was hunting her, takes the red kyber crystals from his lightsabers, and purifies them, using them to build new lightsabers for herself. The novel is non-canon though, so Ahsoka can shed some light on this.

What Happened To Lux Bonteri?

     Lucasfilm

The least pressing mystery in Ahsoka’s life, but not the least important, is the fate of Lux Bonteri, Ahsoka’s romantic interest. The son of a Separatist senator, Bonteri changed Ahsoka’s view on the whole war and they both went on several dangerous missions together. All we know about him after the Clone Wars is from Christie Golden’s novel Inferno Sqaud, where we learn Bonteri was a rebel helping Saw Gerrera’s Partisons fight the Empire. Lux Bonteri was important to Ahsoka’s character development and would be a great and established addition to the show.

Is Ahsoka A Jedi?

During the Clone Wars, Ahsoka was framed for bombing the Jedi Temple on Coruscant and expelled from the Order. She escaped prison and cleared her name, was pardoned, and invited to rejoin the Order as a fully-fledged Knight, but she lost faith in the Jedi and never returned. In Rebels, Darth Vader reminds Ahsoka that seeking revenge for Anakin’s death is not the Jedi way, to which Ahsoka simply responds: “I’m no Jedi.”

In The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka is with Luke Skywalker as he builds a training site for future students, and it appears she may be helping Luke rebuild the Order. In season two of The Mandalorian, Din Djarin finds Ahsoka, wanting to return Grogu to “his own kind.” Ahsoka neither confirms nor denies her status as a Jedi. The shows paint Ahsoka as a Jedi, even though she herself said otherwise and abandoned Jedi teaching. The Ahsoka series can set this straight, as even Ahsoka’s white lightsabers testify to her being neither Jedi nor Sith.

Who Else Knows About the World Between Worlds?

Ahsoka was about to die at the hands of Darth Vader in Rebels, until Ezra literally pulls her out of the fight into the World Between Worlds. A mystical plane within the Force, the World Between Worlds connects all places and times within the Star Wars Universe. While in the World Between Worlds, Ezra and Ahsoka encounter Palpatine, who was trying to use it for his own evil means, before blocking him from the realm forever.

A unique place, the World Between Worlds is too important to ignore, and the design around the Ahsoka logo seems to be inspired by the portals from this realm, and there are many, many questions about this mysterious and powerful place.

Does Ahsoka Know of Anakin’s Redemption?

Ahsoka was the padawan learner of Anakin Skywalker during the Clone Wars. Master and padawan fought together all the way through the war, even after Ahsoka left the Order. Ahsoka was Anakin’s closest friend after Obi-Wan Kenobi. Then Anakin fell to the dark side and became Darth Vader, erasing Anakin from existence. When Ahsoka meets him again, she blames herself for leaving him during the war and tries to kill Vader for destroying Anakin’s legacy.

Ahsoka is alive after the events of Return of the Jedi, and talks to his son Luke, but we don’t know if Ahsoka ever learns of his sacrifice to bring peace to the galaxy. The truth of Anakin’s redemption would free her of the guilt and regret that remains.

What Was Ahsoka Doing During The Rebellion?

     20th Century Fox

Probably the most pressing question that must be answered by the series is what Ahsoka was doing that kept her away from the Rebellion’s struggle against the Palpatine and his Empire. Ahoska was no friend of the Empire and was betrayed by Order 66 like the Jedi, but she, a trained Force-user, never joined the larger fight.

The Ahsoka series has much potential to solve many mysteries from across the galaxy, and we won’t have to wait long for answers.
