It had previously been announced that the whole gang would be getting back together one more time to help conclude the Patrick Stewart-led series in a satisfying way for longtime fans. At San Diego Comic-Con, a new teaser trailer for season 3 was unveiled which features different Star Trek stars back in their Next Generation roles. You can watch the video below.

Patrick Stewart’s Old Friends Will Help Him Conclude Star Trek: Picard

LeVar Burton recently spoke out about helping Patrick Stewart conclude the final season of Picard. He mentioned how the cast all regularly sees each other as it is as they have remained close over the years, but it was still quite the experience for everyone to actually get back into character for one last adventure as the united Starfleet crew.
“We’re all done now and it was an absolute blast. It was so good to be together,” Burton said, via TrekMovie. “I mean, we’re all very, very close anyway. We try to get together once a year for Christmas, but during COVID we weren’t able to do that, so being able to get together at the end of last year and the beginning of this year was really cool for us. And then to put on our space suits and play these characters again! We all thought the ship had sailed on a conscious goodbye.”
He added, “When me made our last movie, Nemesis in 2002, we expected there to be another one, and then things changed. So this was a great gift to us. This season of Picard is a love poem to Next Generation and we get to see these people that we grew to know and even love at this new point in their lives. If I never put a spacesuit on again, I’m good. I feel like I got to put a period at the end of this sentence and close the book.”
You can watch seasons 1 and 2 of Picard on Paramount+, and season 3 is expected to arrive in early 2023.
