Be warned, SPOILERS for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse to follow.

New merchandise for the upcoming animated sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, has seemingly revealed who the main players will be when we once again leap into the madness of the multiverse. Several images shared by Reddit user u/SuperMTitan depict six different Spider-Variants, with Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy leading the way. You can check out these new images from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse below.

The first image, which comes from a puzzle tie-in for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, finds Miles Morales once again in his red-and-black suit. Introduced in 2018’s Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Shameik Moore will reprise the role of Miles Morales, AKA Spider-Man, in the upcoming sequel, which will find Miles transported across the Multiverse and joining forces with a new team of Spider-People to face off with a villain more powerful than anything they have ever encountered.

One such Spider-Person is Gwen Stacy aka Spider-Woman, voiced once again by Hailee Steinfeld, who similarly can be seen in the same superhero ensemble she sported in the first outing.

Now, this is where things start to get more interesting, as the next image offers our best look yet at variants Miguel O’Hara aka Spider-Man 2099 and Ben Reilly aka the Scarlet Spider, who was only recently revealed to be a part of the Spider-Verse sequel. Introduced in a post-credits scene at the end of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Spider-Man 2099 will be voiced by Oscar Isaac, with the character expected to play a major role in Across the Spider-Verse.

As for the Scarlet Spider, the character is a genetic clone of Peter Parker and possesses a similar power-set to the rest of the Spider-People.

Finally, this last image shows off Earth-138’s Spider-Punk, a variant who gained his powers after being bitten by a spider irradiated by illegal waste dumping. He declares himself Spider-Man and fights for freedom and justice while sporting a most triumphant horned mohawk and wielding a guitar.

Spider-Punk flies into battle alongside Cyborg Spider-Woman, a giant, powerful variant who will no doubt prove very useful when battling villains across the multiverse.

The Variant Will Battle The Spot in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Alongside the gradual reveal of the various variants, the villain of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has also now been confirmed to be The Spot. Voiced by Scott Pilgrim vs. the World star Jason Schwartzman, The Spot is a B-list bad guy with the ability to access and manipulate inter-dimensional portals which become adhered to his skin.

Directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson from a screenplay by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and David Callaham, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse stars Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Oscar Isaac, Jake Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Vélez, Jason Schwartzman, Rachel Dratch, Shea Whigham, Jorma Taccone, and Issa Rae as Jessica Drew aka Spider-Woman, a pregnant woman with spider-like abilities.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is scheduled to be released on June 2, 2023, with Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse set to be released in March 2024.
