Sophie Turner is an English actress who made waves when she was cast as Sansa Stark in the phenomenal fantasy epic Game of Thrones at only age 14. While her character matured and grew on-screen in the land of Westeros, so did Turner in real life, showcasing both beauty and talent. Over the years, she has proven she has what it takes to succeed in the entertainment business. With roles in films like The Thirteenth Tale, Another Me, Barely Lethal, and X-Men: Apocalypse, Turner has shown that the emotional connection she brings to her characters is unique and breathtaking.

In 2015, Turner won an Empire Hero Award for her work on Game of Thrones. In March 2017, she became a patron of Women for Women, a nonprofit that supports women war survivors. Turner’s biggest accomplishment has been being nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2019, again for her role in Game of Thrones. Turner’s newest show, The Staircase, which is available to stream on HBO Max, recently received multiple Emmy nominations for its dramatization of the real-life story of the murder of Kathleen Peterson and her husband Michael’s subsequent trial.

Next, Turner is also scheduled to star alongside Maya Hawke (Stranger Things) in the upcoming Netflix film Do Revenge, a dark comedy about two teenage girls who team up to take down each other’s bullies, set for release on September 16, 2022. 4 The Thirteenth Tale

     BBC Two

Based on a book of the same name by Diane Setterfield, The Thirteenth Tale tells the story of a biography writer who interviews a famous but reclusive author, who has never once told a true account of anything in her life. Turner plays the younger version of Adeline, and her performance is one of the saving graces of the film because it is obvious where the plot is going in some places. The film gives the spooky vibes of what it was like to live in a haunted house without taking things too far.

3 Survive

     Quibi

Survive is at its core an adventure thriller. When the plane they are traveling in crashes in the snowy mountains, Jane and Paul are the only ones to survive, but just because they made it through the crash, doesn’t mean they’re safe. A harrowing journey to true safety and a story of survival is imminent in this miniseries. Turner gives an amazing, pulse-pounding performance as the main character Jane, who tells her story through flashbacks and memories, and forces the viewer to piece it all together along with her.

2 X-Men: Apocalypse/ X-Men: Dark Phoenix

     20th Century Studios

The X-Men films are some of the best in the superhero genre and both X-Men: Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix live up to the hype. Turner had the pleasure of playing the younger incarnation of Jean Grey, a powerful mutant who doesn’t really understand her own powers and makes some bad decisions while trying to figure them out. The best part about having Turner play this character is getting to see how Jean transforms over the course of the films. Her acting is top-notch, and she brings so much depth to the character’s struggles that anyone can relate.

1 Game of Thrones

     HBO

Where else was the epic masterpiece that is Game of Thrones going to end up, but in the number one slot? Seeing how much resilience and dedication Turner brought to this role reminds us all that we can do anything we put our minds to. Throughout her time playing Sansa Stark, Turner embodied the character in a way that made you want to know what was going to happen next. Seeing her pain and struggles in the death of her betrothed is something many fans will never forget, and it is what made her able to become hardened enough to fight for what she wanted in the end. Overall, there is a reason Turner is most well known for her role in this show — because it is the best performance she has ever put on.
