Spider-Man fans have frequently used a meme showing three Spider-Men pointing at each other in social media posts and discussions. Now they have the chance to use one featuring Spider-Man: No Way Home’s three Peter Parker’s after Sony Pictures celebrated the announcement of the movie coming to digital format on March 22nd, and then on 4K, UHD and Blu-Ray on April 12th by releasing a photo of Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire recreating the iconic animated image. While there were many special moments created by the return of previous franchise stars in No Way Home, this little gem is simply the cherry on the cake for Spider-Man fans.
MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY
A well as the regular image, the Spider-Man: No Way Home Twitter account also shared a version of the photo that is perfectly cropped for phone lock screens, and it will certainly be getting a lot of use in the near future. In another post, the page urged people to get their hands on a copy of the movie via pre-orders, saying, “If you saw the movie in theaters, you better get it for all the new new. If you didn’t see the movie in theaters, you better get it so you can see it. So basically everyone, get on that pre-order!”
Spider-Man: No Way Home became one of the highest-grossing movies of all time earlier this month, pulling in over $1.8 billion despite the continued Covid pandemic. Having taken over $772 million at the domestic box office, Spider-Man’s latest movie passed Avatar to become the third highest-grossing domestic film ever and is now Sony Pictures’ biggest movie in the company’s history. With the film now coming to home media, those who could not see the film in cinemas will now get their chance to see what all the fuss was about, while everyone else can relive the magic of the multiverse story in all its glory.
Spider-Man: No Way Home’s Record Breaking Run Proved That Cinema is as Relevant as Ever
Sony
Before Spider-Man: No Way Home’s release, there was still a certain amount of doubt about the future of cinematic releases, with many big movies of the year being either underperforming at cinemas or being given a day and date release on a streaming platform. When the movie overtook No Time To Die as the biggest Hollywood movie of the year in just a matter of days, there was no doubt that the film was going to be huge, and the collaboration has obviously led to questions of whether the three stars will be teaming up again.
“In terms of moving forward with the character, yes I am definitely open to that,” Garfield said previously after finally not having to lie about the role anymore. “Again it would have to be something very unique, very special and serving to an audience and in service of the character. There’s something playful and unique and odd and unexpected to be done. I’m not sure what is but if we can figure it out it would be so much fun. I would love to continue working with Tobey [Maguire] and with Tom [Holland]. That kind of three brother dynamic is so juicy.”
All eyes are now turning to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which is expected to expand on the multiverse hinted at in Spider-Man: No Way Home in a big way, with more cameos and returning characters being rumored than in any other Marvel release ever. Now Marvel fans will be able to relive Spider-Man’s latest adventure before heading to theaters to find out where the MCU is heading next.
