Sons of Anarchy is a drama series that follows the life of Jax Teller, whose loyalty to his outlaw motorcycle club is tested when he uncovers some disturbing truths. Despite the fact that the club promises to keep drug dealers away from Charming, California, they also thrive through illegal arms deals. With a total of seven seasons, Sons of Anarchy became one of the most popular and best TV shows on FX. The show and its cast were nominated for a number of awards, including several Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
Sons of Anarchy completed its run in 2014, and its never-ending popularity led to the creation of the spin-off series Mayans M.C., which premiered in 2018 and was recently renewed for a fifth season (via Forbes). Since it’s been eight years since the completion of Sons of Anarchy, it leaves many fans wondering what happened to the cast of the series. Whether they have continued to show their face on-screen or if they have fallen into obscurity. Here’s where the cast of Sons of Anarchy is today.

Charlie Hunnam
20th Television
The main character of Sons of Anarchy is Jax Teller, the VP and eventual President of the MC, who struggles to gain legitimacy of the activities of the club. Charlie Hunnam was twice-nominated for the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Actor for his performance as Jax. Before his time on Sons of Anarchy, Hunnam starred as Nathan Maloney on Queer as Folk and played the title character in Nicholas Nickelby. The actor has since gone on to star in a number of films including The Gentlemen, Last Looks, and the upcoming film Rebel Moon. Hunnam has also taken on the main role of Lin in the new AppleTV+ series Shantaram.
Katey Sagal
FX
Katey Sagal is an actress with a long history on television, dating back to her earliest and probably most known role as Peggy on Married… with Children, all the way to her role as Cate Hennessy on 8 Simple Rules. Sagal expanded her career into Sons of Anarchy as the chaotic mother of Jax Teller, who is willing to go great lengths to protect her family. Over the years, she has made appearances in a number of TV series, including her regular role as Turanga Leela on Futurama. Since Sons of Anarchy wrapped up, Sagal has managed to maintain regular work on TV series like Superior Donuts and The Conners. Sagal is also lined up to star in the upcoming Futurama reboot on Hulu.
Mark Boone Junior
Aside from Sagal and Ron Perlman, Mark Boone Junior is arguably one of the most recognizable faces on the show as he starred in a number of blockbuster films before Sons of Anarchy, like Memento, Batman Begins, and 2 Fast 2 Furious. Junior plays the role of Bobby Munson, former Secretary and VP of the SAMCRO, known for his even-tempered and often logical approach to resolving conflict. Since his time on the series, Junior has gone on to star in a number of film and TV roles. Most recently, he can be seen in an episode of The Mandalorian and on Paradise City. We can also look forward to seeing Junior in the upcoming comedy film Shriver.
Kim Coates
Kim Coates played the role of Tig, a sergeant at the MC who helped Clay do his bidding with unwavering loyalty. His performance earned him a nomination for PAAFTJ Television Award for Best Cast in a Drama Series. After his time on Sons of Anarchy, Coates went on to star in a number of films and TV series, including the role of Declan Gardiner in Blue Blood, which won him the Canadian Screen Award for Best Actor in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role. Most recently, Coates has made appearances in films Fantasy Island, See for Me, and Donkeyhead, while also holding a strong presence on TV in the series Van Helsing.
Tommy Flanagan
Chibs Telford, played by Tommy Flanagan, is a loyal member of the MC, who still manages to maintain a certain level of integrity while taking care of business, making him one of the most beloved characters on Sons of Anarchy. Flanagan started his acting career with Braveheart back in 1995, and went on to star in a number of films, including Gladiator. Since Sons of Anarchy ended in 2014, Flanagan’s career picked up speed. He starred in a number of films including Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and most recently Code Name Banshee. Flanagan’s TV presence has also flourished, making appearances in series like Power Book IV: Force and a main role on Wu Assassins.
Maggie Siff
Dr. Tara Knowles was a recurring character and eventual regular on Sons of Anarchy. Initially Jax’s ex-girlfriend, she eventually became his wife and the biological mother of one of his children. Tara is portrayed by Maggie Siff and was nominated for the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series twice. Maggie’s other notable roles include Rachel Menken on Mad Men and psychiatrist Wendy Rhodes on Billions. Since her time on Sons of Anarchy, Siff has gone on to star in a number of roles, most recently The Short History of the Long Road, Explained, and Billions.
Ron Perlman
Ron Perlman came to Sons of Anarchy with a long impressive filmography already behind him. From starring in features like Quest for Fire and the series Beauty and the Beast back in the 80s to taking on more recent roles like in Pacific Rim, Perlman’s filmography certainly earned him his role as Clay Morrow, one of the “First 9” of the SAMCRO, whose lust for power overrules all else. Perlman’s career shows no sign of slowing down as, over the past two years, he has released a total of nine films, with a few more already in post, preparing for eventual release.
Ryan Hurst
Ryan Hurst plays the role of the beloved Opie Winston, who served as Jax’s best friend and a loyal member of the MC. Before his time on Sons of Anarchy, Hurst starred in We Were Soldiers and Taken, which gave him the clout he needed to earn the important role on Sons of Anarchy. Most recently, Hurst has taken on a number of TV roles, including the role of Beta in The Walking Dead and the role of Milligan in The Mysterious Benedict Society. Hurst is also set to appear as the voice of Thor in the new video game God of War: Ragnarok.
Theo Rossi
Juice Ortiz is a member of the MC, who is technically savvy when it comes to vehicles, but is rather simple-minded when it comes to everything else, which is ultimately what lands him in trouble. Theo Rossi portrayed the Sons of Anarchy character in the most memorable of ways. While Rossi had a number of small appearances in film and TV, including on shows like Lost, Grey’s Anatomy, and Bones, he also went on to take on much larger roles, like in the hit series Luke Cage. As of 2022, Rossi is busier than ever before, with four films being released this year, and another film called Carry-On in the process of filming.
