What happens when two Christmas gifts from the well-known jewelry store Tiffany’s get swapped? A new Prime Video holiday film will show us. Something from Tiffany’s follows Rachel (Zoey Deutch) and Ethan (Kendrick Sampson) as they work through the aftermath of a gift mix-up and maybe even find true love in the process.
Deadline exclusively revealed in November 2021 that Deutch was set to star in the film. The actress also signed on to the project as an executive producer. Other producers include Lauren Neustadter and Reese Witherspoon under her production company Hello Sunshine. This marks one of the first films from the company (under the Hello Sunshine banner), the other being Where the Crawdads Sing.

Something from Tiffany’s: The Plot
Prime Video
The holidays are a time for spending time with family and friends, reflecting on the year, and maybe even getting a little special something for the partner in your life. At least, that’s what Gary (Ray Nicholson) and Ethan had in mind. The two go to Tiffany’s, the jewelry store known for its beautiful blue boxes, to pick something up for the respective women in their life on the same night. However, their gifts are swapped: Ray ends up with the engagement ring Ethan purchased, and Ethan has Ray’s earrings.
When Ray’s girlfriend Rachel opens the engagement ring on Christmas morning, she’s shocked, and so is he. Vanessa (Shay Mitchell) loves the earrings Ray gave her, even if that wasn’t the gift he and his daughter picked out. After assumedly contacting Tiffany’s about the problem, Ethan and Rachel meet up to swap the items and ensure everyone gets the gift they were meant to.
Sparks fly between the two, causing Rachel to question her relationship with Gary, even though they seemingly just got back together based on the trailer. Rachel’s friend Terri (Jojo T. Gibbs) is convinced the two hit it off, but Rachel brushes her friend off, focused instead on her relationship with Gary.
While the two shouldn’t ever see each other again, after all, the city is filled with over eight million people, Ethan stumbles into the bakery she works at. Could the two of them find their soulmate because of a salesperson’s accident, or will they realize their current relationships are the ones they are meant to be in?

Release Date

Everything Else We Know
The movie is an adaptation of a book of the same name by Melissa Hill. Unlike many other projects produced by Hello Sunshine, Something from Tiffany’s was not a part of Reese Witherspoon’s book club. Based on the trailer, we can tell the film took some artistic liberties with the source material, but the book synopsis also provides more details regarding the story audiences will watch play out on screen.
Both couples are only visiting New York City in the book on romantic getaways for the holidays. While it’s clear that Ethan and Vanessa don’t live in the city in the film, it isn’t established where Gary and Rachel call home. Ethan knows he wants to propose, while Gary has left his gift shopping at the last minute, so both men end up in Tiffany’s on Christmas Eve. Rather than earrings like the trailer shows, Gary purchases a charm bracelet, another Tiffany’s staple.
In the book, Ethan is a single dad to Daisy. He hopes to give her a complete family again in proposing to Vanessa. The film’s trailer doesn’t clarify the nature of their relationship, but it’s likely this is explored more in the movie.
