Michael B. Jordan recently revealed how he found out that the Saturday Night Live staff was taking turns sleeping on a life-sized pillow of him. The Creed star is set to host the popular sketch comedy series on Jan. 28, marking the actor’s first time hosting SNL. It’s worth noting that the comedy series appears to be starting the new year with some first-time hosts. Previously, on Jan. 21, Aubrey Plaza made her hosting debut on SNL.

Recently, while appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jordan revealed a surprising discovery during his first visit to the SNL set. The Black Panther star stated that a member of the show’s team gave Jordan a heads-up about an item they had that might seem a bit weird to the actor: the life-sized body pillow of Jordan they had in a backstage room. If that wasn’t strange enough, the star additionally noted that the pillow of him had come to SNL a decade before as a gift to one of the producers.

Jordan said, “Oh yeah, the pillow. Okay, so I walk into the office. And um, they’re like, ’this might be a little weird, but we actually have been living with you for the last 10 years.’ I said, ’living with me the last 10 years, what are you talking about?’ They’re just like ‘well, it was one of the producer’s birthday. And one of the other employees got her a pillow.’ And it was a life-sized, almost like a pregnancy pillow of me, printed on both sides. And I’m like, ‘wait, you guys had this for how long?’ It’s been there for 10 years. It’s been there for a decade.”

The star continued, “I got a photo of it. And I’m like ‘wait a second.’ So I’m like ‘wait, wait, wait,’ I said ‘whose pillow is that?’ And, you know, the lady was like ‘Oh, it’s mine.’ And she was like, ’listen, our hours here are so crazy that everybody takes naps at some point during the day.’ And I was like ‘So wait. Every lady in here has slept with me at some point in the last ten years?’ And they were like yes, everybody has at one point.’”

While the body pillow didn’t provide a clear reference to any specific movie featuring the actor, it’s quite interesting that the pillow is over a decade old, as his filmography wasn’t nearly as extensive as it is today. But, of course, nowadays, the actor is a well-recognized figure in Hollywood, having starred as the title character in the Creed films in addition to playing Erik Killmonger in Black Panther. This year, the star is set to reprise his role as Adonis Creed in Creed III. The upcoming movie will also mark Jordan’s feature directorial debut, with the star serving as one of Creed III’s film producers. The full interview with Jimmy Fallon can be found below.
