It seems that Simon Pegg is a big fan of Marvel Studios series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Following the series finale, She-Hulk continued to earn mixed reviews from MCU fans, but the show still has maintained a fresh critic review of 72%. Fans seemed to be split into those who have read She-Hulk’s comics and loved the transition of the fourth-wall-breaking character, and those who expected something of the usual dramatic, big-action Marvel fare that has come to be the staple of their big screen movies. For Star Trek star Pegg, the series finale had similarities to the Gene Wilder comedy Blazing Saddles, and was not just a hit, but “the best thing” since Avengers: Endgame.

Speaking from his car in a Twitter video, Pegg heaped praise on the series as well as its star Tatiana Maslany, who he said he would marry “in an alternative dimension.” Pegg said:

“I’ve just watched the finale of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and I have got to say that show is the best think Marvel have done since Endgame. I think its fcking brilliant. It’s really funny, I love its self-reflexivity, that last episode was like Blazing fcking Saddles, it was great. Tatiana Maslany is da bomb and I would like to marry her in an alternative dimension.”

How Did She-Hulk’s Finale Tackle Marvel Trolls?

Throughout the series, Tatiana Maslany’s Jennifer Walters has given her opinions on many things, most of them linked to the real world. Whether it has been online dating, attitudes towards women, or social media the use of She-Hulk’s fourth wall-breaking has allowed the series to address some things that regular Marvel shows and movies cannot do in such a blatant way. However, it was the series finale that really delivered a message to Marvel trolls, with She-Hulk meeting K.E.V.I.N, an AI robot who is “responsible” for the MCU’s storylines. Discussing the scene, writer Jessica Gao explained how that whole scene managed to exactly predict how trolls would attack the show. She said:

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is now streaming in full on Disney+, where fans can relive some of Jennifer Walters’ best trolling moments.

“That conversation between Jen and K.E.V.I.N. is very much the relationship that I have with real-life Kevin and a lot of that is taken from conversations I’ve had with him. That scene was so much longer in the scripts. If they had let me, I probably would have written a 10-minute conversation of my avatar arguing with Kevin. This is probably the tightest version of what it could have been. There were a couple of jabs where Kevin was like, “OK, this is a little mean now.”

Our writers room opened three years ago. The fact that we were able to predict what the reaction was going to be, what a lot of the trolling comments were going to be, really shows how very tired and unoriginal these trolls are. That really tickled me because the little troll that lives inside of me really loves trolling the trolls.”
