The post, which was shared by the official Disney UK Website , has now been removed, but once again reveals She-Hulk to be an out-and-out comedy. While the Marvel Cinematic Universe is well-known (and sometimes criticized) for its comedic style, She-Hulk will evidently lean even further into these sensibilities as we are introduced to Jennifer Walters and follow her into court, where she attempts to defend superhumans such as The Abomination.
The She-Hulk series has even been described by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige as a “half-hour legal comedy” in the past, with the Marvel boss adding that it is something that Marvel Studios has “never done before.”
Alongside the comedic stylings of She-Hulk , the series will also center on the character’s relationship with her cousin , the former Avenger Bruce Banner AKA The Hulk. Avengers: Endgame star Mark Ruffalo, who will reprise the role in the Disney+ series, has since revealed that he will pass the baton onto She-Hulk . “Tatiana Maslany is freaking legendary as the She-Hulk,” the actor said. “I’m passing the banner onto her. Yeah, there’s some really good, funny, cool, long, long scenes between the Professor and her. We’ve never really seen the Hulk interact with people the way he does in that show. It will be really interesting.”
She-Hulk Will Land on Disney+ in August
The synopsis was accidentally leaked along with what appears to be the official release date for She-Hulk . While we have known that the series would land on Disney+ later this year, thanks to the leak, we now know that it will in fact hit the streaming service in the next few months. On August 17, to be precise.
She-Hulk will be led by Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters, who is transformed into a superhero of her own after a blood transfusion courtesy of her cousin Bruce Banner. The series stars Mark Ruffalo, Tim Roth, Ginger Gonzaga, Renée Elise Goldsberry, and Jameela Jamil. It has even been rumored for some time that the likes of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil will make appearances in the show.
She-Hulk is just one example of a whole host of original content set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe and due to debut on Disney+ , including Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, Ironheart, Secret Invasion, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, Armor Wars , and an untitled series set in Wakanda.
