Spoiler Warning: She-Hulk Season One

Madisynn is She-Hulk’s rowdy Karen the show introduced in episode four. And she’s going to destroy the MCU. Well, maybe not, but there are some fan theories that she could have interacted with Mephisto, a powerful demon in the Marvel universe who links characters like Doctor Strange, Ghost Rider, and Victor von Doom. So Madisynn could actually turn out to be a pretty big deal.

If the rumors are true, She-Hulk may have just confirmed the existence of one of Marvel’s most dangerous villains, as well as provided a way to introduce some fan-favorite characters.

She-Hulk’s Madisynn (spelled with two N’s and a Y, but it’s not where you… well, you already know) is an alcoholic party girl who was accidentally thrown into some hellish dimension by cut-rate magician Donny Blaze (Who might turn out to be Ghost Rider?). Depending on what happened there, she could be a real danger to the MCU. The deal she made in the other world could have been for just about anything, and her close proximity to Wong might lead to disastrous consequences if things get out of hand.

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

There is a lot to unpack in this most recent episode of She-Hulk, and it could be the falling pebble that starts an avalanche.

Madisynn Visits a Familiar Hellish Realm

     Marvel Comics

She-Hulk’s fourth episode was basically the story of how Wong ended up suing Donny Blaze because Madisynn spoiled the Sopranos for him. It seems simple on the outside, but there is a lot to unpack here. Donny Blaze used to be a student of the mystic arts at Kamar-Taj but was banished for summoning a few kegs and old college buddies there. Also, his name is remarkably similar to Johnny Blaze, Ghost Rider’s alter ego in the comics, but we’ve yet to see him on a motorcycle.

Still, Blaze managed to sneak out a sling ring from the temple and now uses it in his not-so-impressive magic act. Despite the sling ring being a rather basic implement for the practice of magic at Kamar-Taj, it still has the power to open up any dimensional portal in the universe. And when the perpetually drunk Madisynn volunteered for a trick, she was transported somewhere Blaze might not have intended to send her.

The next we see Madisynn, she plops down on a couch next to Wong, holding a heart that looks like it had been freshly ripped out of someone. She says she was in some kind of realm where she made a deal with a goat-looking thing named Jake that managed to get her out of a lava pit in exchange for six drops of her blood. Later, in the courtroom, Madisynn, still holding a drink, goes to testify and says she can’t reveal the secrets of the deal she made or else the demon would “reap [her] soul and the souls of all [she loved].” It definitely sounds like something evil is going on here.

Though the testimony of someone so drunk might be a bit questionable, the important points were there. A fiery realm, demons, and blood pacts sound like Mephisto. The demon is essentially Marvel’s analog for the devil that draws on American folklore and Abrahamic religious myth, so although Mephisto’s name isn’t “Jake” per se, the image of goat horns does conjure up a lot of old artistic representations of the devil. Even if Madisynn isn’t directly linked to Mephisto, she’s given us evidence of his hellish realm. So it’s probably safe to assume that it’s only a matter of time before Mephisto shows up.

How Madisynn Could Change the MCU Forever

Madisynn’s deal with the demon “Jake” could have been anything. But when she was teleported out of hell, she was dropped right next to Wong with a beating cow heart in her hand. Whoever she made a deal with probably didn’t do that out of kindness, trying to send her home. They likely wanted to connect her to Wong so that she could carry out some unforeseen part of whatever this deal was about. Given the power that Wong can wield, she may end up hijacking the strength of the Sorcerer Supreme to release powerful demons on Earth.

Beyond some simple use of power, the stage is set with plenty of characters connected to Mephisto. If Donny Blaze does actually turn out to be Ghost Rider, he will end up drawing some of his power from the evil creature. And if Mephisto is using Madisynn to make his entrance into the MCU, then it creates an opportunity to tell an important part of Victor von Doom’s backstory.

Things seem to be lining up in She-Hulk to create a nexus of possibilities for the MCU. When Madisynn’s evil conspiracy comes to a head, it could mean more for the Marvel universe than just the reveal of a regular villain. There could be much more to this party girl than meets the eye.
