Apple Original Films has landed the rights to the documentary, according to reports from Deadline, sending the project directly to Apple TV+.

According to the report, the documentary focuses on Gomez, who, after years in the limelight, achieves worldwide success. Then, just as she’s reaching a new peak in her career, an unexpected turn pulls Gomez into darkness. The authentic and intimate documentary spans her six-year journey into a new light. Gomez recently teased the project on her Instagram, showing the doc playing in a small theater.

Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me is the second collaboration between Apple and producers Lighthouse Management + Media with Interscope Films, following their work on Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry, which received an Emmy nomination. The release date for the project is still unknown for now.

Selena Gomez Keeps Busy

When Selena Gomez isn’t busy amassing 210 million sold singles and 45 billion global streams of her music, she keeps herself occupied with other things. Recently, the 30-year-old has starred alongside Steve Martin and Martin Short in Only Murders in the Building. The series follows three strangers who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves caught up in one. This year, Gomez received an Emmy nomination for being an executive producer on the series, while Martin and Short received nods for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy.

Over the past three years, Gomez has been front and center for Selena + Chef, a cooking series featuring the artist on HBO Max, currently on its fourth season. In addition, she’s working on a reboot of the ’80s classic Working Girl, set to release on Hulu.
