Sandra Bullock fans will need to savor her upcoming comedy adventure movie The Lost City as the actress has announced that she is going to be taking a bit of a break from acting to spend more time with her family. Having been a constant in Hollywood for 35 years, Bullock has appeared in action thrillers, romantic comedies, and dramas and has picked up an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild awards and has twice been named the highest-paid actress of the year. Her latest movie sees her teaming up with Channing Tatum, Daniel Radcliffe, and Brad Pitt in an action-comedy that will be her last movie for a little while.

Bullock spoke to Entertainment Tonight Canada about her upcoming movie. She revealed that she wants to spend more time with her kids, as she focuses too much on her work to fully enjoy time with them. She commented that she currently feels that she “needs to be in the place that makes me happiest.” She then added:

Bullock will be the second big-name star to announce that she is taking some time out, with Ryan Reynolds making a similar announcement last year. Whether it is the effect of the Covid pandemic giving stars some perspective about spending time with their families as much as possible, or something that has just been building for a little while, there are few people who would not like to take the option of having some family time if it was offered.

“I take my job very seriously when I’m at work. And I just want to be 24/7 with my babies and my family. That’s where I’m gonna be for a while.”

In the same interview, Bullock was asked what she sees her time being taken up with during her break, and she was quick to explain that her children will dictate a lot of that. She said she would be “servicing their every need” and “their social calendar.” She also added that there will also be some precautions to add in around the Covid pandemic. She said:

The Lost City stars Bullock as a writer who is starting to lose interest in her work, but when she is kidnaped by a billionaire (Radcliffe) who is searching for the fabled Lost City that features in her latest novel, she becomes caught up in an adventure to rival anything she has dreamed up in her books. The film is due to be released this weekend in the U.K. and a week later in the U.S. and so far has gathered a positive reaction from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. As well as her own movie, Bullock will also soon be seen in Brad Pitt’s movie Bullet Train which is due for release later this year.

“All the parents know me as the crazy lady with the pandemic. They know their children will return without Covid when they’ve come to our house.”
