Sylvester Stallone demonstrates his super strength in a new clip from the upcoming Prime Video superhero outing, Samaritan. Released courtesy of Prime Video, the footage offers another look at Sylvester Stallone as an aged superhero who has been missing in action for over two decades. You can check out the clip from Samaritan below.

Described as a dark, new take on superhero movies, Samaritan follows Javon Walton as Sam Cleary, a young boy who goes in search of a mythic superhero who was thought to have died following an epic battle with his archenemy twenty-five years ago. Discovering that the hero has been living under the radar as a garbage man named Joe Smith, Sam attempts to persuade him to return to the fray and save the world. All the while, a notorious gang has Joe in their sights…

The clip, entitled “How Did You Do That?” sees Stallone’s mysterious garbage man attacked and accidently showing off his superhuman strength in front of a little girl played by Aria Seymore. The footage reveals a further glimpse at the grey and grimy city in which Stallone’s retired superhero inhabits, which has no doubt become so grey and so grimy thanks to him no longer carrying out his superhero duties. Stallone’s character, Joe, suddenly takes a knife to the back from an unsuspecting goon, who is quickly thrown through a wall.

After trying to convince the little girl that her eyes have deceived her, Joe is quickly forced to forget that strategy when huge explosion threatens her life.

Directed by Overlord’s Julius Avery and produced by Sylvester Stallone and Braden Aftergood from a screenplay by Bragi F. Schut, Samaritan stars Sylvester Stallone (Rambo, Rocky, Creed ) as Joe Smith AKA Samaritan and Javon Walton (Euphoria, The Umbrella Academy) as Sam Cleary alongside Martin Starr (Spider-Man: Far From Home), Moisés Arias (The King of Staten Island), Dascha Polanco (In the Heights), Natacha Karam (The Old Guard), Pilou Asbæk (Game of Thrones), as well as Jared Odrick, Michael Aaron Milligan, and Deacon Randle.

Stallone has recently discussed his role in Samaritan, providing some insight into the title character and the movie’s depiction of superheroes. “Samaritans very interesting because it’s a take on when you are born with supernatural gifts, and then you realize things aren’t turning out as well as you thought,” he began. “Perhaps even tragedy occurs this superhero says I’ve had enough with trying to save society I can’t even save myself, and then he goes into hiding for 25 years.”

Director Julius Avery meanwhile has previously explained why Stallone is perfect for Samaritan. “We didn’t really have superheroes. We only had action heroes. And Sly was the closest thing we had to a superhero. So to put him in a superhero movie?” the filmmaker said. “That feels fresh and cool and something that people will get a kick out of. This is a big event movie - we see our heroes kicking ass. We’re going to see Sly do things he hasn’t done in a long time, and in a really inventive way. He’s 73 years old! I’m amazed by how much he actually does. I’m telling you, most guys in their twenties wouldn’t be able to do what Sly does in this movie.”
