Sadie Sink may not have joined Stranger Things until its second season, but the character of Max Mayfield is as important to the fantasy horror series as any other character. For that reason, the actress is not looking forward to leaving the series after its fifth and final season, saying that is going to be “emotional” and “awful” to see it all come to an end. Along with the rest of the show’s young cast, which includes breakout stars such as Millie Bobby Brown and Finn Wolfhard, Sink has a healthy looking future ahead of her, but having grown up working on Stranger Things makes the show’s ending feel like the end of a bit part of her life. She told Today:
MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY
“We know that it’s happening and that it’s the last season, so it’s going to be emotional I’m sure. Spoiler-free, just with the way my character ended in Season 4, I have no idea what is going to happen. But I’ll be there. It’s going to be awful. It’s going to be horrible. These kids, this entire cast and crew, it’s family. People say that all the time, but I genuinely mean it. And to think that we have to say goodbye to that security and knowing that we’re going to be seeing each other for another season? It’s scary and sad, but I think it’s exciting to kind of move on to the next chapter, I guess.”
Sadie Sink Has Received Praise For Her Role In Brendan Fraser Movie The Whale

Outside of her role as Max in Stranger Things, Sadie Sink has built up a strong resume of acting credits, including the Netflix horror anthology Fear Street, and she is currently appearing alongside Brendan Fraser in Darren Aronofsky’s The Whale. Although a lot of attention has been focused on Fraser’s return to mainstream cinema in the central role, the actor has been making sure that his young co-star gets the praise she deserves for playing his estranged daughter in the film. Previously, Fraser added his own opinion on Sink’s performance, saying:
“The fluidity that Sadie [Sink] plays, this beautiful controlled rage, was breathtaking to me. I was constantly going up on my lines, and that’s just because I got cobwebs upstairs and I was wearing a lot of gear, but also because I was just slack jawed, I’m not joking, watching her work. She won the game ball every day we worked, I’m telling you.”
While Stranger Things may be coming to an end, Sink is certainly looking forward to progressing her career in the coming years outside the franchise. Based on her other recent roles, there is little reason to believe that plenty of awards and accolades will be coming Sink’s way in the near future. At the moment, many fans’ focus is on the fate of Max in the finale of Stranger Things, which is expected to arrive on Netflix sometime in last 2024.
