Ryan Reynolds has teased imminent updates regarding the highly anticipated comic book movie sequel, Deadpool 3. In an interview with Collider, Reynolds was not able to give much away about the project but stated that there would be a “batch” of updates coming soon.
Almost nothing is known about what direction Deadpool 3 will take, as the character no doubt enters the Marvel Cinematic Universe…somehow. The sequel will of course bring back Ryan Reynolds as the title character, a role he has proven time and again that he was born to play ever since his debut in 2016’s Deadpool. The threequel is currently being written by Bob’s Burgers duo Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin, with Deadpool expected to take advantage of the madness of the multiverse and thus stand alongside the likes of Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and Captain America.
“We pretty much talk about everything, but I’ll say this about that particular subject is I’ll have a batch of updates on that sooner rather than later, I hope. So I’ll be able to get into stuff about Deadpool a little bit more clearly and definitively down the road.”

Thanks to the Disney/Fox merger, Deadpool will now be under the watchful eye of Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, who has recently provided an update on the development of Deadpool 3. “The script is in the works,” he said last year. “And Ryan is working very hard on it with our writers as we speak.”
Will Deadpool Appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness?
Marvel Studios
The upcoming Marvel sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has not only further opened up the consequences of the multiverse, but has also unleashed all manner of speculation. One of the more exciting topics of discussion is over whether Deadpool will be introduced into the MCU during the Doctor Strange sequel, with the Merc with a Mouth seemingly spotted on a recent poster.
While Ryan Reynolds has denied his involvement in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness saying, “I guess I’m not really supposed to say anything about that, but I’m really not in the movie. I could be an unreliable narrator, but I promise you I’m not in the movie,” this would not be the first time that an actor has lied about joining the MCU.
Until the arrival of this batch of Deadpool 3 updates, Ryan Reyolds will next be seen on screen in Netflix’s The Adam Project. Directed by Shawn Levy, The Adam Project stars Ryan Reynolds as Adam Reed, a wounded time traveler who ventures into the past from 2050 on a rogue mission to search for the woman he loves (played by Zoe Saldaña) who had previously gotten lost in the time-space continuum under mysterious circumstances. However, when Adam’s ship is damaged, he ends up being sent spiraling back to 2022, and the only place he knows from that time, his home. It’s there that a 12-year-old version of Adam (played by Scobell) becomes his ally.
The Adam Project is scheduled to be released on Netflix on March 11, 2022.
