Banter between Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds is nothing new, but now the pair have a whole new playground to bicker over with the coming of Deadpool 3 – which could be known as Wolverine & Deadpool if Jackman gets his way.
Jackman shared a video in which he was noting Reynolds’ shortlist nomination for the Best Song Oscar, and in conversation, he happened to slip in that he would be working on the “Wolverine & Deadpool” movie. Naturally, it didn’t take Ryan Reynolds long to pick up on his online sparring partner’s choice of words and called him out in a real Deadpool way. Reynolds commented:
MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY
Since the announcement of Jackman’s involvement in Deadpool 3, there has been plenty of speculation about the movie’s title. With the MCU loving a good subtitle, there is very little chance it will simply be left as Deadpool 3. Still, there has been no indication whether Wolverine will feature in the title, considering he is seemingly a joint lead in the movie. With the film set to start shooting soon, there will be a lot more good-humored online debates over this to come as production gets underway.
What Will Deadpool and Wolverine Look Like In Deadpool 3?
Movieweb
There is currently a lot of speculation over how their arrival in the MCU will change Deadpool and Wolverine…or should that be Wolverine and Deadpool? We don’t want to get on the wrong side of Mr. Jackman after all. Before the first images of Deadpool 3 begin to emerge in the coming months, MovieWeb has come up with an exclusive piece of art that imagines what Jackman and Reynolds could look like in the new iteration of the Marvel characters.
Of course, with the story involving a trip through the multiverse, there is every chance that the Deadpool and Wolverine we know will be exactly the same as the ones we get in Deadpool 3. One thing that is certain is that Jackman has promised that his return as Wolverine will not impact his almost perfect ending in Logan. The actor previously said:
As well as this, Jackman has also hinted that there will certainly be a lot of rivalry between Deadpool and Wolverine in the new movie, and it certainly won’t be a happy marriage between the two. How all of this fits with the MCU’s grander plan, or Wolverine’s future, is unclear, but the movie is set to be a winner regardless after promising something that fans have wanted to see for a long time. So the real question is, are you Team Wolverine and Deadpool or Team Deadpool and Wolverine?
“But all because of this device they have in the Marvel world of moving around timelines, now we can go back because, you know, it’s science. And so I don’t have to screw with the Logan timeline, which was important to me, and I think probably to the fans too.”
