There was a lot for fans to take from the announcement that Hugh Jackman would be bringing Wolverine out of retirement one more time in Deadpool 3, but some eagle-eyed Taylor Swift fans were quick to note something that no one else noticed. In the video announcement by Ryan Reynolds and Jackman, the location of choice looked to be the same as Swift’s All Too Well: The Short Film, and that is all it needed for rumors of Swift potentially making an appearance in Deadpool 3 to start circling on social media. However, Reynolds has now shot down that theory…at least for now.

Taylor Swift is a friend of Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively, so the fact that there is a connection is not exactly a surprise, and Reynolds made it clear while speaking to ET that there could certainly be a way for Deadpool 3 to have an appearance from the singer. He said:

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

Swift is currently breaking records with her latest album, which Reynolds also touched on when gushing about how much his whole family loves her new album, and while she has more than enough of her own work to be dealing with, it would only take one request from Reynolds to potentially see her making a cameo appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as part of Deadpool 3. Stranger things have indeed happened.

“If we shoot the next Deadpool film in our house, then it would be that location. I would do anything for that woman. She’s a genius.”

Could Any Cameo Be a Bigger Deal Than Hugh Jackman’s Return in Deadpool 3?

Deadpool fans were thrilled to know that the Merc with the Mouth was heading to the MCU following the merger between Fox and Disney, so the reveal that Hugh Jackman would be making an entirely unexpected return as Wolverine has set a bar that is so high it is stratospheric. While there could still be a Taylor Swift cameo in the movie, it is unlikely that it will touch the sides compared to Wolverine’s return. Reynolds recently commented on just how much it took to make Jackman’s return happen. He said:

However excited Reynolds is to make the movie, that is nothing compared to how fans feel about the whole thing. All in all, this almost guarantees that not only will Deadpool 3 be the biggest Deadpool movie so far, but could also be one of the biggest MCU movies so far.

“It’s not like adding Hugh Jackman to a movie like this is a hard sell. It’s an immediate and emphatic, unqualified yes. It’s a lot of moving parts and Fox and X-Men and all that kind of stuff that Marvel needs to sort through. A lot of red tape in order to make that happen. And they did it. And I’m really grateful that they did it, because for me, working with Hugh is a dream come true. But working with Logan and having Logan and Wade together in a movie is beyond any dream I would ever be audacious enough to have. So I’m really, really super f***ing excited to do this film.”
