As the creator of the Star Wars franchise, George Lucas is always going to have an opinion about the directions the sequels and spin-offs in the series go. When it comes to The Mandalorian, it seems that the Godfather of Star Wars had one issue with the incredibly popular character of Grogu, better known as The Child or Baby Yoda. The series of The Mandalorian has certainly rejuvenated the Star Wars franchise, and its central story of bounty hunter Din Djarin and his relationship with Grogu has captured the imagination of many, as well as creating a whole new wave of merchandise opportunities in the process....

The Starz Original drama Power began production this week on an eight hour-long episode first season. New Line’s upcoming horror sequel The Nun 2 moves forward with its lead star secured. Per THR, it has been revealed that Storm Reid (Euphoria, The Suicide Squad) will play the protagonist in The Nun 2. This follows a prior confirmation from producer James Wan that Bonnie Aarons would also be returning as Valak, the titular antagonist. Michael Chaves, who directed the Conjuring franchise’s latest installment, last year’s The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, will direct....

Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer, who are now better known as The Duffer Brothers, have revealed that they would not be against bringing the Hawkins back in a couple of decades’ time, similar to how Stephen King’s novel It time-jumps the main characters into adulthood. Speaking with Vanity Fair, the Duffer Brothers revealed that a time jump was their initial plan for Stranger Things following the first season, with the creators saying that, should they continue beyond the upcoming fifth and (so far) final season, they would bring the likes of Eleven, Dustin, Mike, Lucas, and Will back as grown-ups....

CHURCH GROUPS WANT DAVID CURBED The Washington DC-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has joined several Christian groups in denouncing a recent Curb Your Enthusiasmepisode in which Larry David’s character accidentally splatters urine on a picture of Jesus. “It is beyond tasteless to insult the religious sensibilities of billions of people in America and around the world with such a cheap and vulgar publicity stunt. Jesus, peace be upon him, is loved and revered by both Christians and Muslims,” said CAIR in a letter to HBO, which carries the series....

Syfy’s 2014 Fall Programming primetime lineup will feature the highly anticipated six hour event series Ascension, starring Tricia Helfer (November 24); the series premieres of Z Nation (September 12) and the docuseries Town of the Living Dead (October 7); the Season 5 return of Haven (September 11) and the special 10th anniversary season of Ghost Hunters (October 8). Taylor Schilling and series creator Jenji Kohan talk Orange is the New Black, debuting Thursday, July 11 on Netflix After the successful debuts of Netflix Original Series’ House of Cards, Hemlock Grove, and Arrested Development earlier this year, the streaming service is about to launch their fourth program this week with Orange Is the New Black. Megan Ellison and her Annapurna Films production company have won the rights to produce Terminator 5, after a heated bidding war. A few days ago we reported that the bidding auction had come down to Lionsgate and Annapurna Films, and now it seems Annapurna came away victorious.
