SG-1 is back on DVD. According to The Hollywood Reporter, MGM is resurrecting Stargate SG-1 with two brand new DVD releases. Stargate: The Ark of Truth will be the first movie, slated for a March 11 release date. The trade paper is reporting that this movie will bring the storyline from Season 9 and the final Season 10 to an end. The series, which aired on the Sci-Fi Channel, was cancelled in March, despite a strong fanbase and ratings....

Sony Pictures Classics announced today that they have acquired the rights in North America, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand to Take Shelter. The film is written and directed by Jeff Nichols (Shotgun Stories) and stars Academy Award nominee Michael Shannon, Jessica Chastain, Shea Whigham, Katy Mixon and Kathy Baker. The film is in dramatic competition at the Sundance Film Festival. Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt has landed Scarlett Johansson to star in an untitled comedy project which will serve as his directorial debut. Voltage Pictures will finance the project, and will sell international rights at the Berlin Film Festival. Joseph Gordon-Levitt will also star in the comedy as a egotistical womanizer, who goes on a quest to be less of a, “selfish dick.” It isn’t known what role Scarlett Johansson will play, and it is said there is another female lead role yet to be cast....

Scooby-Doo star Sarah Michelle Gellar dropped some major behind-the-scenes information regarding the 2002 live-action production during a recent visit to Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live. Gellar confirmed a “steamy” kiss between her character, Daphne, and Linda Cardellini’s character, Velma, which was ultimately cut. The two actresses starred in the James Gunn-scripted film alongside Matthew Lillard (Shaggy) and Freddie Prinze Jr. (Fred). According to Gellar, all four of the actors signed on to the project because it was significantly “less family-friendly” than the animated franchise....

Golden Globe Award-winning actor Scott Bakula (Quantum Leap) will guest star as Chuck and Ellie’s (Zachary Levi and Sarah Lancaster) estranged dad on NBC’s action-comedy series Chuck (Mondays, 8-9 p.m. ET) in a multi-episode arc scheduled for broadcast later this spring. In the storyline, Chuck made a promise to his sister, Ellie that he was going to find their dad in time for her wedding.
