MovieWeb talks with the actress about her work on the show, what she’s doing now and no longer being known as ‘Tootie’ With accolades like number 23 on VH1’s list of “100 Greatest Kid Stars,” one might think that Kim Fields would be happy just to have accomplished so much at such a young age. They would be wrong. Working in TV since she was 8, Kim Fields is very well know for the role she played as Dorothy “Tootie” Ramsey in the hit coming of age show The Facts of Life....

Earlier this month, we reported that The Amazing Spider-Man director Marc Webb may not return to make the sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, due to his obligation to make another movie for Fox Searchlight. Today, we have word that the filmmaker may have a way to make both Sony Pictures and Fox Searchlight happy, while returning to direct this superhero sequel. Marc Webb signed on to direct at least one more movie for Fox Searchlight, as a part of the deal for his breakthrough indie comedy (500) Days of Summer....

Caped crusaders, masked mavericks, and the like seem to have an oligopoly on vigilante flicks, with Marvel and DC, in particular, spewing endless amounts of superheroes into the metaverse. But what about the movies whose vigilantes don’t conform to the stereotype, who are maskless, the ones who mightn’t necessarily take down an entire corporation, government, or terrorist group, but whose focus is still to make the world a better place?...

After being teased by the official social media channels of The Boys, as well as star Karl Urban, the new trailer was released today and sees more of the new arrivals to the show appearing alongside well-established favorites. The cast list includes Karl Urban, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty and Jack Quaid, and the latest season also brings in Laurie Holden as Crimson Countess, Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, Sean Patrick Flannery as Gunpowder, Nick Wechsler as Blue Hawk, Miles Gaston Villanueva as Supersonic, Frances Turner as Monique, Kristen Booth and Jack Doolan as Tessa and Tommy/the TNT Twins and Katia Winter as Little Nina....

MGM is prepping its RoboCop remake, and actors such as Chris Pine, Keanu Reeves, Tom Cruise, and Johnny Depp have been mentioned as possible candidates to star. Director José Padilha, who signed on to direct the remake back in March, recently said his top choice for the cyborg cop is Michael Fassbender. Here’s what José Padilha had to say about the remake below. Michael Fassbender is currently attached to At Swim-Two-Birds and Prisoners, but Prisoners does not have a production schedule set yet and At Swim-Two-Birds starts shooting in early 2012....

Sony Pictures has signed a deal to distribute MGM Studios’ RoboCop remake, which recently landed The Killing star Joel Kinnaman as its lead actor. The story follows Alex J. Murphy (Joel Kinnaman), a Detroit cop who was shot and left for dead in the line of duty. He is turned into the RoboCop, a half-man half-robot crime-fighting machine who is programmed to clean up the mean streets of Detroit. No other cast members have been announced yet, but this project seems to be on the fast track now, after landing Joel Kinnaman, so expect to hear about more roles filling up in the near future....

The acclaimed series Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story has been a massive hit for Netflix, but along with the show’s immensely high viewership, there has been a certain level of criticism to come in as well. There have been family members of some of the victims expressing unhappiness about the series, with some saying they were never contacted about it. For his part, co-creator Ryan Murphy says he did try contacting “around 20 of the victims’ families and friends” for input, but that not a one of them returned his calls....

The two talk about working on the film based on the James Ellroy novel It’s one of the most horrific deaths in American and Hollywood history - the brutal murder of actress Elizabeth Short in 1947. The investigation is still up in the air to this day, and is the focus of the new film, The Black Dahlia; the movie is based on the book by James Ellroy. Josh Hartnett and Aaron Eckhart are the lead police detectives on the case; unfortunately, their two very different views on the case get in the way of their investigation....

The Exorcism of Emily Rose director Scott Derrickson is returning to horror with a new untitled project from producer Jason Blum (Insidious, Paranormal Activity). Little is known about the storyline, although it is said to be a horror tale which has a crime at the heart of its plot. Jason Blum revealed the goal is to emphasize the story and vision ahead of special effects and bankable stars. Jason Blum has had success using this model in both Insidious and Paranormal Activity, which were produced on small budgets and yielded big gains at the box office....

The Walking Dead star Scott Wilson has passed away. He was 76-years old. The actor had been battling cancer. His death was announced by the show’s social media account. It was revealed over the weekend at NYCC that Wilson would reprise his role as Hershel Greene in season nine, though it is not clear how many episodes he will appear in. The actor had already filmed some of his scenes before his death....

Skins was a unique show. Written by people in their late teens and early twenties, and acted by real teenagers, the show had a fresh and realistic look at teenage life. Without Skins, there wouldn’t be Euphoria, as the British show was the first to capture the life of partying, drugs, and fun (but with dark consequences) that Euphoria has brought to the extreme. Skins was created by father-son duo Bryan Elsley and Jamie Brittain....

You can bring the latest adventures of the young Clark Kent and Lois Lane home on DVD and Blu-ray this August. Smallville: The Complete Eighth Season will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on August 25. This six-disc DVD set will contain all 22 episodes of this season and will be priced at $59.98 SRP, while the four-disc Blu-ray will be priced at $79.98 SRP. The series stars Tom Welling, Allison Mack, Erica Durance and Aaron Ashmore....

The 20th Anniversary of Smallville has been getting the noughties show some attention this weekend, and with the complete series making its Blu-ray debut this week, it has been the perfect time for series creators Miles Millar and Alfred Gough to pack in a number of interviews to look back at the show and some of the stories that come with its history. Amongst the tales from the production of Smallville, one story that came up while the pair spoke to the Hollywood Reporter is the time Shazam!...

The Untitled Spider-Man Reboot began production yesterday, and cinematographer John Schwartzman revealed on the RedUser.net forums that the movie is being shot with the Red Epic digital cameras. This is the first time a major studio motion picture is being shot with the high-tech cameras. On the heels of the news less than an hour ago that Martin Sheen is playing Uncle Ben, Heat Vision Blog is now reporting that Sally Field is in talks to portray his wife Aunt May in the Untitled Spider-Man Reboot. The actress is only in early talks for the role, though, so it isn’t a locked-in certainty that Sally Field will play Aunt May, the character that is primarily responsible for raising young Peter Parker after Uncle Ben is killed....

The first reviews for the Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell-led Christmas comedy, Spirited, are now in. So, is Spirited a modern Christmas classic or a festive failure? Well, it sounds like it might be a bit of both, with reactions so far being decidedly mixed, though largely praising the pairing of Reynolds and Ferrell. Jude Dry of IndieWire found much to enjoy with Spirited, and while the movie is somewhat lacking in certain areas, Spirited will fill you with wholesome festive feelings....

Stan Against Evil arrived at NYCC today after making a big splash earlier this year at Comic-Con. We get a crazy new trailer as the show proceeded to raise hell amongst its biggest fans. IFC released this statement along with the latest monster-filled footage. In addition, Stan Against Evil is celebrating its Halloween premiere in two all-new promos, one paying homage to some’thing’ strange and another highlighting the debut of this season’s must-have trick-or-treat masks....
