The finale of The Mandalorian’s second season sent fans wild with an unexpected appearance by none other than Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, and those who love a good unheralded celebrity appearance in the Star Wars universe were given another treat in The Book of Boba Fett – Chapter 3: The Streets of Mos Espa. Star Wars Rebels mid-season premiere marks the homecoming and a new chapter for Sabine Wren (Tiya Sircar). “Legacy of Mandalore” begins with Sabine, Kanan (Freddie Prinze Jr.), Ezra (Taylor Gray), Finn Rau (Kevin McKidd) and Chopper on the Phantom II en route to Kronos, the base of Clan Wren. They are met by a squad of flying Mandalorians guns blazing. Their ship crashes in a snowy forest. Sabine tells Fenn Rau to stay out of sight and the Jedi to take it easy as they confront the attackers....

Here’s your chance to chase after a sasquatch on DVD. Strange Wilderness will be released on DVD on May 20. We don’t have any pricing details on this disc so far, but the film stars Steve Zahn, Allen Covert and Jonah Hill. Animal enthusiast Peter Gaulke (Steve Zahn) and his sidekick Fred Wolf (Allen Covert) host an ailing wildlife TV show Strange Wilderness, which is in a steep ratings decline. Desperate to save the show, Peter hatches a Hail Mary scheme to find the one animal that could truly turn the show around and change the nature-show landscape forever - Bigfoot....

Although some fans have decried the inability of the Duffer Brothers to kill off any of the long-standing cast members of Stranger Things, it appears that there was originally a death on the cards for the finale that didn’t make it into the final version. While it would not have resolved the gripes of those wanting to see complete carnage in the season 4 finale of the Netflix monster hit, there was originally a plan to kill off Hopper’s unexpected Russian ally Dmitri at some point during the last two episodes of the season....

A new horror movie is in development featuring Dave Grohl’s band Foo Fighters. Open Road Films has reportedly acquired the worldwide rights to Studio 666, a horror flick directed by BJ McDonnell and written by Jeff Buhler and Rebecca Hughes. It stars Grohl alongside fellow band members Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett, and Rami Jaffee, as well as Whitney Cummings, Leslie Grossman, Will Forte, Jenna Ortega, and Jeff Garlin....

OSCAR GOES TO WAR Oscar voters on Sunday will have a chance to attend screenings of all five nominated films in the documentary category. Three are anti-war films. Michael Moore, who is among the nominees for his film Sicko about the U.S. health-care system, told the French news agency Agence France Press Wednesday, “The Academy has nominated three anti-war films: the thing that I was booed off the stage for is now being honored....

BRITISH SPINSTER BECOMES INSTANT STAR In what appeared to be the fastest-spreading viral video ever, a clip from Britain’s Got Talent featuring the electrifying performance of Susan Boyle, a Scottish, middle-age spinster, has been viewed by more than 15 million people on YouTube in four days. (In the U.K. it has been viewed by more than 1 million people on the ITV website.) The list of record holders for YouTube videos is considered suspect since it includes commercial music videos whose viewing numbers have been boosted by fans using software that “refreshes” their YouTube feed every few seconds....

FEW CHEERS FROM FAMILY GROUPS FOR DISNEY’S MUSICAL The expected chorus of cheers for Friday’s record ratings for Disney Channel’s High School Musical 2 from conservative family groups failed to materialize Monday. The Parents Television Council (PTC), which reviewed the TV movie favorably (it did warn of “some midriff-baring swimsuits and clothing”), had nothing to say about the film’s overwhelming ratings success. (It attracted 17.24 million viewers, the largest audience ever for a basic cable program....

This past week, The Biggest Loser: Couples contestants got encouragement from Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, and helpful advice from two past season winners - Helene Phillips (season seven) and Erik Chopin (season three). First, the five remaining players got some game-changing news from host Alison Sweeney: There would be no yellow line, just a red line. So friendships and alliances couldn’t help those who were left - whoever fell below the red line would go home automatically, leaving this season’s final four....

The CW has released a series finale trailer for Supernatural. While the end is near, fans still have another three episodes to go before they bid farewell to the Winchester Brothers. In addition to footage from the final episode, fans are treated to a look at the retrospective special, Supernatural: The Long Road Home, which will air before the episode on November 19th. “After 15 seasons, the longest running sci fi series in the US is coming to an end....

Syfy’s new super-powered original drama series Alphas, featuring a team of superhuman investigators, will be returning for a second season, it was announced today by Mark Stern, President, Original Content, Syfy, and Co-Head, Original Content, Universal Cable Productions. Syfy is ordering 13 episodes of the breakout scripted summer hit from series producers Universal Cable Productions and BermanBraun Television to air in 2012. “Alphas’ smart, innovative approach to a superhero franchise has clearly caught on with our audience,” said Stern....

As a franchise, The Walking Dead has become more massive than the zombie hordes plague the show’s survivors. The original series, which is based on a comic book of the same name, debuted over a decade ago and is currently in its eleventh season. Robert Kirkman is one of the busiest writers in comics today, doing projects for both Marvel and Image Comics. Not content to be busy with comics, Kirkman is also writing a script for the adaptation of Invincible, a comic of his own creation. Kirkman gave Publisher’s Weekly an interview where he discussed his multitude of projects as well as providing an update on Invincible. “I’ve been contracted to write two drafts of the screenplay,” Kirkman says....
