New Line Home Entertainment is caught up of the next generation Rush! In a story from Home Media Magazine, the studio announced that Rush Hour 3 will be their second title to come out on HD-DVD, Blu-ray Disc and Standard DVD The plan is to release Rush Hour 3 December 26 on both DVD and Blu-ray Disc. The HD-DVD version will come out in 2008. The Standard DVD will be a 2-disc Platinum Series edition....

Banter between Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds is nothing new, but now the pair have a whole new playground to bicker over with the coming of Deadpool 3 – which could be known as Wolverine & Deadpool if Jackman gets his way. Jackman shared a video in which he was noting Reynolds’ shortlist nomination for the Best Song Oscar, and in conversation, he happened to slip in that he would be working on the “Wolverine & Deadpool” movie....

Producer Scott Rudin has acquired the rights to Conn and Hal Iggulden’s best-selling book The Dangerous Book for Boys and will produce the adaptation for Walt Disney Pictures, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film is a big-screen version of the tongue-in-cheek manual, which gives today’s coddled youth instructions on potentially hazardous activities, such as how build go-carts and make a bow and arrow. It also provides trivia, historical anecdotes and advice on life that have inspired interest from fathers and nostalgic middle-aged men....

Our new Bane is here, and he’s something else. The first images of actor Shane West as the iconic Batman villain, who is set to appear in Gotham season 5, have made their way online. While many were excited at the prospect of seeing Bane on the DC series, once the images surfaced, the tone changed a bit. To say the least, many people online aren’t thrilled with the character’s look, which has been thoroughly roasted....

Sony is kicking up Blu-ray about 50 notches. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (SPHE) today announced the imminent arrival of its first three 50GB dual-layer Blu-ray Discs (BD). The heart-warming comedy Click, starring Golden Globe®-Nominee Adam Sandler, Oscar®-Winner Christopher Walken and Kate Beckinsale, will be available on store shelves October 10. Black Hawk Down, the Oscar®-winning, action-packed drama from director Ridley Scott, starring Josh Hartnett, Ewan McGregor, Tom Sizemore and Eric Bana, features new Blu-Wizard(TM) technology and will be available to film fans on November 14....

Sony Pictures Entertainment has acquired North American distribution rights as well as distribution rights in a significant number of foreign territories, including all English speaking territories, to the Peter Jackson produced sci-fi motion picture District 9 from QED International. The announcement was jointly made today by Peter Schlessel, President of Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group, and QED International CEO Bill Block. Academy Award winner Peter Jackson is producing District 9 through his WingNut Films production banner....

Arrow star Stephen Amell took a break in production on Season 6 over the weekend to swing by Salt Lake City Comic Con, where the topic of his potential Arrow and Supernatural crossover was addressed. While both shows air on The CW, there have been no formal plans announced for these unique and much different shows to cross over. During his appearance at SLCC, he was asked about this possible crossover, and what he’d like to see....

Since the release of the first season in 2016, Stranger Things has been one of the more bingeworthy shows streaming on Netflix. With its winning combination of nerdiness, nostalgia, horror, and action, it is easy to see why this show’s popularity skyrocketed the way it did. LATEST SAG DRAMA TO PLAY OUT IN COURT TODAY The newly appointed national executive director of the Screen Actors Guild has summoned the union’s board of directors for a special meeting on Sunday, presumably in response to SAG President Alan Rosenberg’s lawsuit against the union. The lawsuit claims that the board violated state law when it used a procedure called written assent to fire former National Executive Director Doug Allen and appoint a task force to revive negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers....

Indeed the only grand theft evident was the one committed by Paramount/Marvel’s Iron Man, which took in $98.6 million domestically over the three-day weekend, according to figures released Monday by Media by Numbers. The film averaged a stand-out $24,024 per theater....

CAROL HAS A DICKENS OF A TIME Moviegoers were about as tight-fisted at the box office over the weekend as Ebenezer Scrooge was at the grindstone in his day. The top film, Disney’s A Christmas Carol, which stars Jim Carrey as Scrooge and the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future, opened with an estimated $31 million, far below analysts’ expectations of about $40-45 million – and less than half what Madagascar: Escape 2 Africaearned when it opened with $63....
