The finale of She-Hulk: Attorney At Law brought the fun Marvel Studios series to a super-meta close, but even before the action really got underway, the episode delivered something of a special nostalgic nod to a much older piece of Marvel history – The Incredible Hulk TV series. As the Marvel intro ended, everything suddenly went fully retro as the opening sequence of the classic Incredible Hulk show was turned into a parody intro to The Savage She-Hulk, and this answered one unanswered question from all the way back in She-Hulk’s first full trailer....

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has divided many Marvel fans, with its comedic core and throwaway storylines, and the finale didn’t disappoint in creating more debate between the show’s fans and critics. With a big reveal at the end of the series being the biggest Meta moment of the MCU, She-Hulk took a thinly-veiled swipe at the many complaints that have been aimed at Marvel over the last few years, and it was something the team behind the show were thrilled to do....

Sin City creator Frank Miller has signed a deal with Legendary Television to next adapt the franchise as a new television series. Robert Rodriguez, who co-directed the Sin City movies with Miller, is also reportedly close to signing with Legendary as well. The pair also directed the 2014 sequel, which would make this their third Sin City collaboration. Additionally, the two are expected to be executive producers with Legendary Television for this new project....

Fairy tales are hot properties this year, where we have already seen two different Snow White movies hit theaters. Producer Neal H. Moritz is planning on giving Disney’s Maleficent some competition, by readying a new, modern-day take on Sleeping Beauty. While Maleficent is told from the point of view of the villainous title character (Angelina Jolie), the producer’s comedy will portray Sleeping Beauty as a needy stalker. The story centers on a man who accidentally awakens Sleeping Beauty, only to discover that she keeps following him around, thinking he is her one true love....

We all love a good and mighty superhero. However, why not show some love for our favorite villains? The Marvel Cinematic Universe has the mega-blockbuster superhero movie industry on lock. MCU movies have been huge hits and have been massive steps forward for many actors. Honestly, how can we picture anyone else playing Iron Man or Thor than Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Hemsworth? Paramount Pictures and IMAX Corporation today announced that Star Trek, directed by J.J. Abrams (Mission: Impossible III, Lost and Alias), will be simultaneously released to both IMAX and conventional theatres worldwide on May 8, 2009. Star Trek, which chronicles the early days of James T. Kirk and his fellow USS Enterprise crew members, will be digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience with proprietary IMAX DMR (Digital Re-mastering) technology....

Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker star Adam Driver has responded positively to the idea of returning to a galaxy far, far away, with the actor open to resurrecting Ben Solo AKA Kylo Ren. In the past, the actor has pushed back on the idea of coming back to the franchise, but it sounds like enough time may have now passed to give him another perspective. The son of Han Solo and Leia Organa, Driver’s character from the Disney sequel trilogy struggled between the light and the dark side, and would no doubt lend himself to all manner of interesting stories – from both his past as a student of Jedi Master Luke Skywalker and then as a pupil of Sith Lord Supreme Leader Snoke....

SOAP FAILS TO CLEAN UP Studios and entertainment analysts were doing some Monday morning quarterbacking yesterday over the failure of New Line’s Snakes on a Plane to live up to expectations. RECORD COMPANIES SUE ELLEN Only a day after it was announced that Ellen DeGeneres would be replacing Paula Abdul on American Idol,some of the leading U.S. record companies sued her daytime talk show claiming the producers had failed to obtain licenses for the music they have used for DeGeneres’s “dance over” segments on each show. The companies include Capitol Records, Atlantic Motown, Sony Music, Virgin Records, and Warner Bros. Records. The latter company is a corporate sibling of Telepictures Productions, which produces The Ellen DeGeneres Show....

LENO IN CENTER OF NEW WGA STORM The Writers Guild of America West should apologize to Jay Leno as a way of clearing his name from the “adverse stigma” that resulted from his being charged with scabbing during last year’s WGA strike, the committee that investigated the charges has recommended. According to The Hollywood Reporter, HD DVD, on a roll since a flurry of product announcements during the International Consumer Electronics Show, has received another big boost, this time overseas. Studio Canal said Friday it intends to release more than 30 of its films on the Toshiba-developed next-generation optical disc format in Europe in 2006. The films will be rolled out when players hit the market, which could be as early as the spring....

Taika Waititi has become a masterstroke for Marvel Studios after the director reignited the spark in the Thor series that is part of the shared continuity of Marvel Cinematic Universe. The director took on the series with Thor: Ragnarok, which not only made Thor commercially successful but also revitalized the character’s presence and significance in the MCU. Owing to that success, Marvel once again brought back Waititi to direct Thor: Love and Thunder....

Lisa Robin Kelly, who played Laurie Forman on the Fox series That ’70s Show, passed away at the age of 43 yesterday. The cause of death was not released, but she died at a California rehabilitation facility that she checked herself into earlier this week, to deal with her alcohol abuse issues. Here’s a statement released by her agent. The actress had been arrested four times over the past three years on DUI and spousal abuse charges....

Jodie Whittaker first appeared as the thirteenth incarnation of the Time Lord on BBC’s Doctor Who in 2017, appearing in her first full series as Thirteenth Doctor in the eleventh series in 2018. The team behind Gen V is having some fun by kicking off 2023 with a vague announcement about its release. Over on Twitter, the official account for the spinoff to The Boys posted an image showing the year 2023, teasing the arrival of the series on Prime Video this year. It was then posted in a follow-up tweet that the series will definitely premiere on Prime Video sometime between now and the next New Year’s Eve....
