The Book of Boba Fett comes to an action-packed season one conclusion with a battle royale on the streets of Mos Espa. The series can best be described as The Mandalorian 2.5. The first four episodes sluggishly recapped Boba Fett’s (Temuera Morrison) escape from the Sarlacc pit, training by Tusken Raiders, and eventual rescue of the bounty hunter Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen). His goal of becoming the “Daimyo” of Tatooine then took second fiddle to Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) aka The Mandalorian’s storyline....

Fans are now waiting for the third season to arrive, and while a release date hasn’t yet been announced, we know that filming has just been completed. Taking to Twitter, actor Jack Quaid posted an image of himself on an airplane to reveal that he’s left the set and is headed back home. He also confirms that the season is officially wrapped, as you can see in the tweet below....

Sony Pictures has halted pre-production of the upcoming sci-fi tale Singularity, to focus on perfecting the screenplay. We first reported on the project back in June, when Sony picked up the adaptation rights. Director Roland Emmerich is co-writing the screenplay with Harald Kloser, and they have also brought on scientific expert Raymond Kurzweil to help with the script revisions. Raymond Kurzweil actually first coined the term Singularity, the belief that artificial intelligence will, one day, surpass human intelligence....

For many years, comedic films have served as a great way for audiences to get away from the stresses of daily life. There has been no better way to unwind than to watch a thrilling, action-packed comedy that doesn’t take itself too seriously. The “buddy cop” subgenre was particularly one of audiences’ favorites, and leading the pack in the late 90s and 2000s was Rush Hour. Ryan Murphy’s The Politician launched on Netflix today, so it’s a great time to talk about the filmmaker’s next project for the streamer, Hollywood. It’s been confirmed that Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parsons and Dylan McDermott (LA to Vegas) will be joining the quickly growing cast of the Netflix Drama. Jim Parsons and Dylan McDermott are among the nine new cast members announced for the series. Samara Weaving (Ready or Not), Maude Apatow (HBO’s Euphoria), Joe Mantello (The Normal Heart), Laura Harrier (Spider-Man: Homecoming) and Jake Picking (Sicario: Day of the Soldado, Blockers) are also set to join the previously announced cast of Darren Criss, Jeremy Pope and David Corenswet....

The Screen Actors Guild announced that its members overwhelmingly voted to approve its TV/Theatrical contracts with the The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. Sam Mendes is working on adapting Garth Ennis and Steve Dillion’s Preacher for film, but contrary to what the trades have said, he isn’t quite as far along as they might have you believe. The Warner Bros. Discovery merger brought about bad news for many projects that were in the works. Given its high budget along with the fact that it had already finished filming, Batgirl getting pulled from release came as a particularly big shock. The animated prequel Scoob! Holiday Haunt was in a similar situation, as the filmmakers were deep into post-production when they got the news that the movie would be shelved....

They have secrets they aren’t telling us about our favorite horror franchise It’s Saw IV week. You know what that means. We will finally get to see what became of Jigsaw and his apprentice Amanda. By all accounts, they should be dead. But are they? We don’t have these answers just yet. So all we can do is speculate until Friday. Personally, I think Saw IV is going to continue the franchise’s progressive trajectory....

Scrubs is set to go through a major transformation when it returns in the fall. According to The Ausiello Files, John C. McGinley’s Dr. Cox and Donald Faison’s Turk will leave the hospital to become med-school professors. Bill Lawrence, the man behind the sitcom, stated, “It’ll be a lot like Paper Chase as a comedy. It’s going to be a different show. It’ll still be life-and-death stakes, but if the show is just Scrubs again in the hospital with a different person’s voiceover, it would be a disaster and people would be mad....

We typically have to settle for a sink’s drip of information on Marvel Cinematic Universe projects. We get leaks, sketchy deep fake YouTube “trailers” and Photoshop jobs, and even sketchier tweets claiming to have breaking news on casting or plot details. Every now and then, a genuine scrap of news will be flung down from the ornate table of the Marvel lords. We’re forced to get by on these lean bits of information until Disney+ Day and, of course, the big stage itself, San Diego Comic-Con....

Several days after his reported disappearance, authorities have discovered human remains believed to belong to Seinfeld actor Charles Levin. Reportedly, Levin was in the process of moving when he vanished without a trace on July 8, prompting his son to report him missing. After initially failing to locate Levin after an exhaustive search, an emergency cell phone ping led authorities to a remote area in Selma, Oregon. As the search efforts now resumed in this area, investigators were finally on the right track when a resident discovered the 70-year-old’s abandoned car in the area, sharing its location with the police....

Back in December, I was invited to visit the New Orleans set, when the network was initially slated to premiere the show in late January. However, shortly after our trip to the set (one week after, to be exact), the network pushed the premiere to summer, due to the incredibly positive feedback the network was getting from, “focus groups and others who have seen” the pilot episode. I was among the “others” who watched the pilot, and I must say it was fantastic, fitting in perfectly with USA’s current crop of shows, while giving the cop genre a “blue skies” twist....

For years, fans have come up with their own theories on how fictional characters – like Donkey from Shrek – got to be where they are now. Because some films don’t dive into these characters’ backstories, fans are essentially allowed to draw their own conclusions. Ultimately, they are either right or wrong, but even a false interpretation makes for an interesting storyline that only bright-minded people could conjure up – one that would assuredly get other fans thinking harder than anyone intended when flicking on an animated feature....

After all this time, will we ever see comic book legend Todd McFarlane’s reboot of Spawn? Well, according to the man himself, something’s gotta give. Speaking with Bleedingcool.com, McFarlane believes that there are far too many people who want to see the Spawn reboot happen for things not to come together eventually. Perhaps even in the next few months, as audiences and studios clamor for more comic book movies. Thanks to all the money being brought in by the likes of Spider-Man: No Way Home and Marvel villain Venom, McFarlane feels that it will be just a matter of time before the Spawn reboot is given the go-ahead....
