TNT has unveiled its summer schedule, including the Monday, July 11, return of basic cable’s top two series of all time: The Closer, starring 2010 Emmy winner Kyra Sedgwick, and Rizzoli & Isles, starring Angie Harmon (Law & Order) and Sasha Alexander (NCIS). TNT’s summer lineup also includes the network’s two newest series, with the two-hour Sunday, June 19, premiere of the science fiction drama series Falling Skies, starring Noah Wyle (ER) and produced by DreamWorks Television and executive-producer Steven Spielberg, and the Wednesday, June 1, premiere of the light-hearted legal drama series Franklin & Bash, starring Mark-Paul Gosselaar (NYPD Blue) and Breckin Meyer (Road Trip)....

MTV caught up with Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, the screenwriters of the upcoming Transformers live-action movie. The duo talk about the integrity of the film vs. the comics, Cybertron and possible sequels: MTV: Transformers fans have been all over you from almost the moment you signed on to write. Are you still feeling the heat? Roberto Orci: When some of the early designs were leaked, some of the die-hard fans felt the integrity of the Transformers had been betrayed....

Director Roland Emmerich is currently doing press for his upcoming film 2012, which hits theaters on November 13, and the director shed some light on two new projects of his. Collider is reporting that Emmerich revealed details about his project Foundation, the Issac Asimov adaptation that was announced in January, but also a new project called Anonymous, which seems to be the director’s next picture. I also had to ask about the possibility of Hellboy 3, which Ron Perlman is still hoping will come to pass. “I’m really excited about this project I did with Charlie Hunnam in the off-season called Frankie Go Boom. Hopefully it’s going to be playing at the Sundance Film Festival. It’s the funniest script I’ve read in 30 years. I play a character who used to be called Phil, and is now Phyllis....

Ronald Reagan’s life – from youth to Hollywood limelight to U.S. president – will be told in a biopic titled Reagan with a $30 million production budget, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Reagan is set for release late next year and will be based on two best-selling biographies of the 40th U.S. president by Paul Kengor: “The Crusader” and “God and Ronald Reagan.” The feature film Reagan begins with the 1981 assassination attempt and tells Reagan’s story through flashbacks and flash-forwards....

A popular comic series is finally moving forward towards the silver screen. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sam Mendes has signed on to direct an adaptation of the comic book series, Preacher for Columbia Pictures. The Vertigo comic book was created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon and centered on a Texas preacher who has been possessed by the unholy alliance of an angel and a demon, named Genesis. The preacher teams up with an ex-girlfriend and an Irish vampire on a quest to find God, who had apparently just up and left his post in heaven....

Is Sarah Paulson going to appear in the new season of American Horror Story? That’s the big question floating around right now, as there has been some serious doubt cast on that front. Multiple reports have come out stating that Paulson wasn’t going to appear in the upcoming season of the anthology horror series, the ninth overall, but there has been at least some confusion. Now, we may have an answer....

I started seeing all sorts of ads for this gritty new cop show that was billed as the show too bold for network TV. All good things must come to an end and Silicon Valley is no exception. The HBO comedy centered around the tech world is set to conclude with the upcoming season 6, as confirmed by creator Mike Judge, executive Producer Alec Berg and the network. Sadly, that means we’re probably going to be saying goodbye to the Pied Piper gang before the end of 2019. According to several reports, Silicon Valley season 6 will be far shorter than previous seasons of the show, running for just seven episodes....

Constantin Film has brought on Soenke Wortmann (Germany: A Summer Fairytale, The Miracle of Bern) to direct the big screen adaptation of Donna Woolfolk Cross’ 1997 medieval bestseller Pope Joan, after letting go of director Volker Schloendorff last month, according to Variety. Production on Pope Joan, which recounts the ninth-century legend of a woman, disguised as a man, who ascends the papal throne, will start early next year with Franka Potente to star....

Who doesn’t love a good giant monster movie? There’s something special about seeing an enormous monster on the big screen, wrecking its way through a city street while tanks and fighter jets worthlessly shoot all they’ve got at it in a tragic attempt to slow their inevitable destruction. Films that feature these kinds of monsters are often referred to as Kaiju movies. Kaiju usually refer specifically to Japanese giant monsters, but for this list it will be a bit more fun to open that definition up to any other giant monster that rampages through our favorite movies....

Knuckles has arrived in the “Big Game Spot” for Sonic the Hedgehog 2. In the upcoming sequel, Idris Elba provides of the voice of the red echidna opposite Ben Schwartz returning as the titular speedster. In a Tweet sent on August 10, 2022, the Star Trek on Paramount+ Twitter account shared an image that celebrated the upcoming third season of Star Trek: Lower Decks: the label for a box of raisins harvested at the Boimler Family Vineyards.
