Over the last few weeks, Spider-Man: No Way Home has been crawling over the competition to claim higher positions on the list of all-time highest-grossing movies, and now it is less than $1 million away from overtaking James Cameron’s Avatar as the third largest movie ever in terms of the domestic box office, not allowing for inflation. As the twenty-seventh movie in the MCU, anyone could be forgiven for thinking that the superhero franchise must have run its course and be becoming a bit of a bore for audiences, but nothing could be further from the truth....

Ramiro Alanis just might be the biggest Spider-Man: No Way Home fan of all. Guinness World Records has just announced that the Florida man has just officially set the new world record for “most cinema productions attended of the same film.” Between Dec. 16, 2021, when the movie premiered, to March 15, 2022, Alanis watched Spider-Man: No Way Home an astonishing 292 times. Keeping in mind that this is a rather long films, that totals up to 720 hours, or 30 days’ worth of watching the same movie....

Disney Channel has released a new poster for Star Wars Resistance. This new animated series follows in the footsteps of Star Wars Rebels, which wrapped up its four-season run earlier this year and managed to be a great source of storytelling within a galaxy far, far away. This new series is going to be quite different in more ways than one, as evidenced by this latest poster. The animation style, characters and timeline are all new for this latest animated Star Wars endeavor....

CRUISE CAMEO BRINGS DOWN THE HOUSE A cameo appearance by Tom Cruise as a bald, foulmouthed movie mogul in Paramount’s Tropic Thunder “brought down the house” at a studio screening Tuesday night, the New York Timesreported today (Thursday) in an article headed, “Tom Cruise, in Bit Role, Nips Studio’s Top Gun.” Paramount is owned by Viacom, whose chairman, Sumner Redstone, tossed Cruise off the Paramount lot in 2006, expressing his anger over Cruise’s comments on behalf of Scientology while promoting the studio’s latest Mission: Impossible sequel....

PELLICANO LAWYER WANTS REPORTER’S PHONE RECORDS In the latest maneuver to track down the anonymous sources of investigative reporters, lawyers for private detective Anthony Pellicano have asked the Verizon phone company to turn over all of the phone records of ex-cop-turned-reporter John Connolly, who covered the Pellicano case for Los Angeles Magazine and Vanity Fair and wrote a book about it, The Sin Eater, due to be published later this year by Atria Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster....

LUCAS WORKING ON SCI-FI GANGSTER SERIES George Lucas is working on a new live-action Star Warsseries for television that is being described as “Deadwoodmeets The Sopranosin outer space,” the New York Postreported today (Monday), citing a report that appeared on the sci-fi website collider.com. Lucas’s primary Star Warscharacters, including Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Darth Vader, will not appear in the series, the newspaper said. The Postsaid that Lucas has held talks with HBO about carrying the series and has also approached at least one broadcast network, but he has yet to make a deal....

First came the somewhat surprising news that J.J. Abrams was producing a remake of the 1980 coming of age classic Little Darlings, which starred Tatum O’Neal and Kristy McNichol as two teens competing to lose their virginity while away at summer camp. Then we learned that he wasn’t remaking the movie, instead using the title Little Darlings as a casting pseudonym for his secretive sci-fi thriller Super 8. We’ve now learned that the movie title Super 8 has officially changed to just Darlings....

The ArrowVerse is finally looking to bring Superman and Lois Lane into the fold in a big way. The CW is developing Superman & Lois, a new show that will star Tyler Hoechlin as the Man of Steel and Elizabeth Tulloch as the legendary journalist from the DC universe. The proposed show has not been picked up to series by the network yet, but it is in active development and could help to fill a void that is coming in their DC show slate sooner rather than later....

Back in July, during their Comic-Con presentation, Supernatural executive producers Robert Singer and Andrew Dabb announced that musician Rick Springfield has come aboard to play Lucifer in Season 12. Today we have new photos from the second episode of Season 12, featuring Rick Springfield’s rock star character named Vince Vicente, who has become the new vessel for the Devil. Gli Occhi sul Cinema has posted an interview with Re-Animator producer Brian Yuzna who reveals that a new trilogy is in the works. The movies will once again focus on the original film’s character of Herbert West: The proposed first one, HOUSE OF RE-ANIMATOR would have West being called to the White House to re-animate the deceased Vice-President. Of course, by the time the dust settles, even the President has been re-animated and West is the power behind the throne....

According to Variety, Curb Your Enthusiasm co-star Jeff Garlin and Phil Rosenthal have set up at TBS the series pilot The Jeff Garlin Program, which Garlin describes as a throwback to the Jack Benny-style variety hours in which the hosts play themselves. Garlin will star, and he’ll exec produce alongside “Everybody Loves Raymond” creator-exec producer Rosenthal and 3 Arts manager David Miner. Garlin wrote the pilot with “Kicking & Screaming” scribes Steve Rudnick and Leo Benvenuti....

Netflix’s most delicious original comedy, Santa Clarita Diet, returns for Season 3 on Friday, March 29th. To celebrate the announcement, the streaming platform released a teaser, which includes scenes from the previous two seasons. Even so, fans of the hit Netflix series should be excited to know that the show is returning for another season with the original cast, including Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant. Since Season 3 will be debuting soon, we will hopefully get some teaser footage from the upcoming season....

Terror Tram: Scream 4 Your Life, based on the latest installment of Wes Craven’s Scream film series, will unleash the iconic “Ghostface Killer” on the world-famous backlot during Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood. Disney XD released new footage from its upcoming animated series Tron Uprising at San Diego Comic-Con this year, ahead of its Summer 2012 premiere. The footage shown in San Diego has been released online, featuring the voice of Elijah Wood as the program Beck. Click on the video player below for this new look at Tron Uprising. We had already reported that Michael Rosenbaum and Kristin Kreuk had not signed to return for the eighth season of Smallville. Fortunately, Mike Ausiello at TV Guide has spilled some more news about the fate of everyone’s favorite cast members. According to his report, although Rosenbaum and Kreuk won’t be series regulars, both are willing to do a portion of the season. “Kristin will be back for a portion of the season - likely the first third,” Al Gough, Smallville’s executive producer said, “and Michael… quite frankly, those negotiations are just getting started....
