The Solar Opposites red band trailer has arrived. Hulu unveiled the new series from Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland today. All 8 episodes can be streamed and the reviews generally seem to be positive so far. The streaming platform decided to give prospective viewers a chance to see what the show is all about with an insane red band trailer. This is incredibly NSFW and it has a completely different tone than Rick and Morty....

Spike TV is teaming with Bunim-Murray Productions for the reality series, Murder. The cable network has given an order of 10 episodes on the show in which amateur detectives try to solve real-life crimes. The Hollywood Reporter adds each hourlong episode begins with the series’ host, Detective Tommy Le Noir, a 20-year Texas law enforcement veteran, escorting two groups of civilians into an exact replica crime scene pulled from the files of an existing homicide case....

Star Wars: The Complete Saga Blu-ray will be available on September 16th, and The Digital Bits were the first to get a sneak peek at this nine disc set. They’ve revealed that Lucasfilm, under the supervision of George Lucas himself, has gone back and made even more changes to these films, which have already been tooled with beyond any fan irritation. Some of the changes are for the better and are purely technical....

Starz Entertainment has greenlit Magic City, an exciting new series centered around a hotel in the heart of sexy, exciting Miami at the dawn of the 1960s, from writer/producer Mitch Glazer and executive producers Geyer Kosinski and Tony To, Starz, LLC, President and CEO Chris Albrecht announced today. Casting will begin soon on the 10-episode dramatic series that will start production in the new year in Miami, and will air on Starz in 2012....

VIVENDI MUM ON NBC UNIVERSAL SALE In announcing its quarterly results late today (Thursday), Vivendi, the French media conglomerate, made no mention of whether it will agree to sell its 20-percent stake in NBC Universal to General Electric, which owns the remaining 80 percent. Such an agreement is required if GE’s deal to form a joint venture with Comcast Corp. is to go forward, and several business writers had forecast that Vivendi would make its intentions known today....

VIEWERS SIGN FOX’S DANCE CARD Fox’s two-hour So You Think You Can Dance stomped all over its mostly rerun competition Wednesday night, averaging a 5.2 rating and a 9 share (8.38 million viewers), giving the network a win for the night. CBS, thanks to a solid 5.1/9 for its 10:00 p.m. CSI: NY, (Fox does not air programming past 10:00 p.m.) placed second with a 5.0/9 (7.44 million viewers). But the two other major networks finished out of the money....

It looks like that’s going to be a wrap on the Superman prequel series Krypton, as Syfy has cancelled the show after two seasons. Reportedly, the network is also no longer moving forward with the Lobo spin-off series, although producers Warner Horizon will continue shopping that series elsewhere. As for Krypton, there’s no word yet on the prospects of the series finding a new home on another network. The decision appears to be based on falling ratings, as Wednesday’s finale drew in around 350,000 same-day viewers, which is quite the plunge from the much higher numbers the series had been pulling in its freshman season....

According to Superman Homepage, it looks all the original Superman films are going to be getting “the treatment” on DVD. On a recent telephone interview with Ilya Salkind, the person who co-produced the first three Superman films, Supergirl, and the Superboy television series, he confirmed that he is currently doing work with Michael Thau, the Producer and Restoration Supervisor on the 2001 Special Edition of Superman: The Movie. Salkind is also doing work with others to now produce new versions of the original Superman films for a DVD release that hopes to take place in coordination with 2006’s Superman Returns....

The Batman has finally been released in theaters, giving everyone Robert Pattinson as their new Dark Knight. To say the film has been a hit at the box office would be an understatement with the profits it’s been pulling in, earning its spot at the second-highest weekend opener during the pandemic era. As we approach the premiere of The Book of Boba Fett, it seems that despite numerous trailers, clips and photos, we really haven’t seen anything yet as director and showrunner Robert Rodriguez has revealed that everything that has been shown so far only comes from the beginning of the pilot episode....

IMAX Corporation and DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. today announced that Shrek Forever After will open in 194 IMAX theatres domestically on May 21, 2010, simultaneous with the film’s wide release. The movie will also open in 45 IMAX locations internationally starting on May 20. Shrek Forever After has been digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality of “The IMAX Experience with IMAX DMR technology and will be presented in IMAX theatres in IMAX 3D....

We’re counting down the days for our luck to turn. Skydance has released the full trailer for their first feature length film, Luck! The trailer and synopsis can be viewed below. Luck is the first film in the partnership between Apple TV+ and Skydance Animation. Starting with the 2021 short, Blush, the contract promises several films in the future! Spellbound is set to be the next in line from the studio, though currently there has been no recent news on the status of production....

Snow White remake star Rachel Zegler wasn’t oblivious to the complaints on social media concerning her casting but it hasn’t gotten her any less excited about the job she has to do. Recently, Zegler and Andrew Garfield took part in a dual interview with Variety, speaking about their respective works. During the conversation, Zegler was asked about the Snow White movie, and for her part, she was more surprised than anyone about landing the part....

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Army of the Dead director Zack Snyder is eager to get his next project for Netflix underway, and has now cast The Mummy star Sofia Boutella to lead his upcoming sci-fi flick, Rebel Moon. Following the release of his horror/action/heist movie Army of the Dead, Snyder will helm Rebel Moon as well as co-writing it with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad. The official logline for Rebel Moon reads like peak Snyder and says, “When a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, they dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them take a stand....

In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Sony Pictures is in very serious discussions to option the English-language film rights for Stieg Larsson’s posthumously published crime trilogy, the Millennium Series. Scott Rudin, who had a big hand in securing the rights, is going to produce this project. Steve Zaillian (American Gangster) has been in several discussions to adapt the first book, “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.” “Stieg Larsson’s Millennium Series is nothing short of amazing,” offered Columbia Pictures president Doug Belgrad....

Horror film fans in select cities across the country will be treated to a sneak preview of Lionsgate’s newest horror motion picture, The Descent. This one night only advance screening, featuring exclusive behind-the-scenes content created especially by the producers for the event, will take place Wednesday, July 26th at 8:00 p.m. local time - nine days ahead of the film’s August 4th wide release. The Descent special sneak-preview event will be presented by National CineMedia, Fangoria Entertainment and Lionsgate Films at 47 participating Regal, United Artists, Edwards, and Cinemark movie theatres across the country in cities including New York, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Washington DC, Denver, Atlanta, Miami, and Las Vegas, among others....

Squid Game Season 2 was never in doubt, and although it took a little while for the confirmation to come from creator Hwang Dong-hyuk, the green light was finally confirmed in January this year. Since then, there has been a lot of speculation about when we will see the new season arrive and what the story will be. While speaking to Hwang on the red carpet at the PGA Awards, Deadline was able to get an update on the continuation of Squid Game, but it wasn’t all good news....
